Is it really Bellator 86 or is that just you continuing the bloodline? I really like it when they number them because then it makes it easy to decipher replays, but it seems Spike is just calling them Bellator MMA and that's it. Askren beat him up, but I wonder if he hurt his ankle? How could they not go there during post-fight interviews? During the telecast they made it sound like Amoussou was telling the ref that shit was crackling and snapping in Askren's ankle. I didn't notice him limping, though.
I didn't hear anyone refer to it as Bellator 86, so it might just be me... Pretty fun card actually. Askren looked the best I've seen him. I wonder if Askren could take down GSP?
i was wondering the same thing. he probably could, but then again, i think GSP would take him down first.
It's hard to tell how good anyone is in Bellator, since they aren't fighting the best guys out there.
Askren's wrestling is surely better than GSP's, but I don't know if it's good enough to keep GSP down and GSP is probably better in every other category.
even in college, askren always came out on top after a scramble. he has the freakish flexibility to somehow end up in a top position when it goes to the ground. he might get taken down, but his ground intelligence and athleticism usually allow him to reverse the position in his favor. again, not sure how that would work against elite level opponents since i've only seen him in bellator vs. scrubs.
