I have to admit it's been fun so far and not because of any drama but because it's cool to get a look at Jones and Sonnen with their teams.

And then boom. One of the more brutal and scary knockouts I can remember.

Uriah is awesome, I'll be really surprised if he doesn't win the show.

    I quite like Chael.

This season is pretty great so far. And the production value is the best of any seasons. I like the new look. The new camera work and just how the whole thing has come across. It really shows how Fox is on top of their game when it comes to this type of atmosphere. both coaches come across very knowledgeable and serious.

It's Impossible NOT to Be Impressed with Uriah Hall, but let's SLOW Our Rolls, Fellas...Every Season of TUF, there's an Annointed "BADASS" Who RARELY Makes it to the Finals...CB Dollaway, Mike Brown, George Sotiropoulous, etc...

Hall's Stand Up is PHENOMENAL, but he DOES have 2 Losses...Let's See what Happens when Someone Actually HITS him...

REED's Glad Sonnen Toned Down the WWEish Schtick...Him and Jones have Made this about the FIGHTERS, which is Cool...REED's Missed the Last Couple Seasons of TUF, but he's Definitely Locked In on this 1....

    CB fucking Dollaway

Uriah would slap that powernerd all over the place.

I do agree with you though, often the most obviously talented or adept fighter doesn't even make the finals. Another recent example was that spotty little guy on the season that Mike Chiesa won, Justin Lawrence I think.

Still, Uriah is awesome, he is like the Jamaican Bruce Lee. His kicks are insanely fast, in fact they're at least as fast as his punches.

BTW one of those losses is to Chris Weidman, who is undefeated, and pretty legit.

I have not seen any of it. I find it hard to care about TUF anymore. It was fun for a while.

I did see the KO though, reminded me of the Barboza vs Etim KO.

Hall wasn't doing very well that entire round round until he landed the bomb. I don't think he's anywhere near a lock to reach the finals.
In fact, at this point, I'd pick Barnatt over him and I won't be surprised if I keep adding to that list as the season goes on. But, maybe not. We'll see.
I don't say that as a knock on Hall, though, it's just because I think there are some real quality fighters on this season.

Hamman and McDaniel are coming across as cockbiters. "Let me fight next and against this guy."
Look, I can appreciate looking after yourself, but don't hide it behind 'it's best for our team' when you are trying to cherry pick seemingly weak links on the other team for yourself and so that you can fight early to have more time to recover.

Some good stuff from both Sonnen and Jones so far, too.

The new camera lighting is a good change because it was time for a change.

Having Never Done ANY Level of Sparring that Involved KICKS, It AMAZES REED that Guys CAN'T See a Leg Heading their Way....But it Happens Fairly Often, Nonetheless...

To Land a ROUNDHOUSE Kick on a Guy is Incredible...

It was more like a spinning heel kick. But i get what your are saying. Normally it isnt hard to see a kick coming, but what makes Uriah unique is that you never see it. Usually to pull off a kick like that you have to turn your hips, shoulders, neck, lift up your lef and then boom. Uriah does this, but with blinding speed and amazing accuracy. it's wonderful gift. But i have a feeling he doesnt take a punch too well and his arroangance might hinder him. As sonnen said. Uriah is his own worst enemy.

YES. exactly. He also has a slight chip on his shoulder from when he was teased. I mean this guy litterally wanted to beat someone's for correcting him. It's like he had a flashback.

Here's the (very poor quality) video of the Weidman\Hall fight.

Ring of Combat has sent so many good fighters to the UFC. If I'm a fighter just starting out, I'd want to fight for ROC. It just sucks that they don't run at the RexPlex anymore. I used to go to their shows all the time back in the day when they were only 20 minutes from where I lived. But the RexPlex went out of business so now they run exclusively out of Atlantic City.

Fuck, that kick was so damn nasty. Just brutal, and he ate it. I would be surprised if he pulls one of Adam's teeth out of his foot. That was a BAAAAAD kick.

I hate to say this, but King is a typical Gracie fighter. He lost to a very mediocre fighter. I liked the kid, but he's very mediocre.

King Strikes REED as the Type of Guy that Relies on INTIMIDATION to Win Fights...He LOOKS Mean, has the Physique, "Trained w/the Gracies", Blah, Blah, Blah....

REED's Certainly No Expert @ Identifying the Finer Points of GROUND Fighting, but King DIDN'T Exhibit Much High Quality, GRACIE Level Ground Shit, in REED's Opinion...Pretty Much just LAYED there & Prevented Himself from Getting Beaten Up Tooooooo Badly...His Main Concern was to NOT Get Hurt, as Opposed to Trying to WIN...Nonetheless, he STILL had his Cut Re-Opened...

King's "Logic" Blew Up in his Face as Well...He DIDN'T Want to Fight Bubba 1st, Because of the Cut, yet Wanted to Fight EARLY, to Allow More Time for the Cut to Heal...Be Careful What U Wish For; you just Might Get It...

GREAT Fight btwn Bubba & Kelvin...

1 of the More Exciting GROUND Oriented Fights REED's EVER Seen...The 1st Round was TOUGH to Score & the 2nd was Playing Out the Same Way...Bubba Showcased his SKILLS & EXPERIENCE, While Kelvin was All Determination & STRENGTH...

Next Thing you Know, Kelvin Gets Bubba's Back, DISTRACTS him w/a Couple Good Punches, then Sneaks in the RNC...SHOCKING Finish...

    REED:cheer:

    ps. 3-1 Team Sonnen...

Great Episode of TUF, in REED's Opinion...

Uriah's Beginning to ALIENATE Himself from BOTH Teams...On 1 Hand, he's EXTREMELY Sensitive to What Others Say, yet in the Next Breath he'll Call Out a Fellow Teammate OR Refer to Another Man's Girlfriend as a 'Bitch', w/Out Provocation ....REED's Still Trying to Figure Out if Uriah's Mental UNPREDICTABILITY is an Asset or a Hindrance...It Gives him his EDGE for Sure, but if an Opponent Can Get Under Uriah's Skin, it just MIGHT Lure him Into a Mistake that Can Get him BEATEN...We'll See...

REED Loooooooooooves Jon Jones to Death, but Dude Bowls like a WUSS...Sonnen Isn't the Next Earl Anthony or Anything, but he Least he Bowls like a MAN...Jones Lost & has to Rock a Team Sonnen Shirt for 1 Training Session...

Josh Samman Struck REED as a Pretty Boy, Metrosexual who FANCIES Himself as a Fighter...Something Alabama Man ASPIRES to Be, in Other Words...But Josh Can Fucking FIGHT!...REED was Able to See Through the Tan, the GQ Haircut & Skin Tight Trunks, to Appreciate Josh's Stand Up Skills...Good Assortment of Knee Strikes, Good Punch Rate & Fight ENDING Power...

Uriah Seems to LOATHE Josh More & MORE w/Each Episode, but Josh ISN'T the Least Bit Intimidated by Uriah's Highlight Reel Talent or his Unpredictability...They're on a Collision Course...

    Sonnen - 3
    Jones - 2

REED, I like that you understand the difference between boxing and MMA striking and can appreciate MMA striking without comparing it to boxing. This is something a lot of boxing fans seem to have trouble with. MMA striking will never ever look like good boxing technique. Just throwing some props your way for always having an open mind about MMA.

Awesome name drop. When I was a kid back in the late 70's\early 80's, in the days when we had only 1 TV in the house and didn't have cable, I usually got stuck watching whatever my father felt like watching, and back then, he loved watching Bowling. Earl Anthony, Mark Roth, Marshall Hollman, those dudes were on every week.

Do they even show bowling on TV anymore?

REED's a "Boxing Guy" for Sure, yet OPENLY Likes MMA, As Well...While they Both Fall Under the "Combative Sports" Umbrella, they're DIFFERENT Animals to REED's Eye's...Similar, for Sure, but DIFFERENT...

It's Really NOT that Hard to Separate (or APPRECIATE ) the 2, Though Many Seem to have a Problem Doing So...

Like You, REED had No Choice in the Matter, Growing Up...Sitting Around w/the Old Man, Waiting for "Wide World of Sports" (or CBS's &/or NBC's Version) to Show Boxing, We'd Sit Thru All Sorts of Other Sports...Over Time, the Names STICK w/You...

WHENEVER REED Thinks of Bowling, Earl Anthony Spings to Mind...In Pool, it's Minnesota Fats or Willie Mosconi...In Auto Racing, it was Mario Andretti...

Pertaining to Bowling, there was Also a Show Called "Bowling for Dollars", that REED's Old Man Watched...He Never Actually Bowled that Much, from REED's Recollection, yet Liked WATCHING it for Some Reason...REED Occasionally Watches a Frame or 2 on the Rare Occasion that ESPN Broadcasts it...These Days, it's All Tricked Out & Glitzy, like a Scene from the Flick "Kingpin"...

NBA Point Guard, Chris Paul, is an AVID Bowler...In Fact, he's Quoted as Saying "I'm REALLY a Bowler who just Happens to Play Basketball". He Hosts Celebrity & Pro-Am Bowling Events on ESPN, from Time to Time...

I saw a couple of interviews with both Sonnen and Jones recently and it actually seems like they both like and respect one another. This fight all it had going for it was the build up but now that they're liking each other it loses all it's appeal. It's just a dramaless mismatch now.

It was ALWAYS Gonna Be a Mismatch...

The WWEish Shit Talk Would've Only DETRACTED from the Fighters, Which Would've Been Sad, as this is Perhaps the Most Talented Crop of Fighters REED's Seen on TUF Yet...

Have No Fear, Sonnen will Revert as the Fight Grows Closer...He'll Probably Speak of "Sensing" Fear from Jones, Whenever they were in the Same Room or Things of that Ilk...Chael Turns On the Shittalkin like a Light Switch...He's BRILLIANT @ it...
