The difference is that I was and am a proven real fighter, and every time I answered in that manner I was provoked by some "keyboard warrior" typing shit towards me.

I have been to many professional fight cards, and many amateur tournaments throughout the course of the past 9 years since I have been covering the sport, and am very accessible and visible as I am credentialed on press row or the ring apron in all of them, and I am free to walk wherever I please during an event.

I have never had any person (fighter or civilian) step up to me looking to start some shit, and I never will.

I have met four folks in person here and they were all nice folks, and never had a problem, and as I stated above, I never will.

I had a funny exchange with a guy called William Guthrie last week.

He tweeted about Hopkins-Cloud, he said "Hopkins only picks opponents who can't fight"

So my response was - "How about Reggie Johnson, can he fight?"

the joke of course being (really only you guys would even get it) that William Guthrie was a hyped up undefeated Light Heavyweight who won the IBF strap over ten years ago and then was completely PLASTERED by an older blown up middleweight Reggie Johnson and then we pretty much never heard from Guthrie ever again.

Turns out the guy wasn't THE William Guthrie and he didn't understand my tweet at all and he responded with something about how Hopkins needs to pick better opponents (a point that is devoid of logic in and of itself) but I remember thinking it was probably a bad idea to make fun of a boxer if it had been the William Guthrie I was referring to... not only because he was a boxer but I think he was a former drug dealer released from prison when he resumed his boxing career and who knows if he fell back into his old habits once he got knocked teh FUCK out by Johnosn.....
