I don't think he has used any of those excuses for Canelo....but he use them 4-5 years ago when guys like a prime Cotto, Williams, Margarito were hanging out at 147.

They needed to build a fanbase, become PPV players, improve their resume...yet had no problem going for Carlos Bumdomir because at that time Floyd was all about the titles collecting them ALL...but when Paul William,Margarito and Cotto had titles he wasn't about that anymore...titles didn't make him...:wack:

Point is Mayweather always had an excuse to duck the best and most dangerous competition...

    Mares is pretty good.

Btw, you're right - J'Leon Love is nothing to write home about. I thought Rosado deserved to get the nod, but of course, there's no way Rosado was winning a close decision.

Rosado should've pushed way harder at the end. You have to know your surroundings in this game.

J'Leon Love is going to get knocked dead one of these days

He's a complete leap amateur... squares up like a retard half the time... he will take a 10 count within his next 4 fights, i think in my mind

Easy fight for Floyd! I can't believe Guerrero is asking for a rematch. lol! and his dad kept calling Floyd a chicken after the fight for running. lol!

I think Guerrero will end up fighting Ortiz at some point.

I honestly don't want to see Floy against anybody coming from 140 - Khan, Mathyse, or Garcia. He will toy with all of them I think the only decent match ups are Canelo and Martinez. as bad as Martinez looked against Murray, Floyd should try to secure that fight right away. Martinez will come down to 154 for him and a drained Martinez will be even esier.

I like Mares alot but I still think Donaire is better. I think Ponce should have been allowed to continue but Mares fought better overrall. Too bad that Juanma, Garcia, Salido, Rigo, and Donaire are all with Top Rank.

I'd pay for a Mayweather-Garcia PPV just to see Garcia's daddy's face reacting in HD to Floyd wiping his ass with his son.

It's worse now than in a while, but it was much worse in the Showtime/HBO split of the 90's.

I'd take Floyd over a drained Martinez at 154 clearly.

Even at 160 I'd have to favour Floyd, based on the Murray performance. Martinez didn't even seem to have much snap in his punches.

I actually thought that it was a good fight. Especially coming off the year long lay-off and the 90 day jail term not to mention 36 years of age. That's why I predicted that the Ghost would beat Floyd. I'll Holla 5000

How was it a good fight? It was basically a schooling. Impressively easy, sure, but a good fight?

The Cotto fight was a lot better, and even the Ortiz fight was more fun to watch.

The Ortiz interview during the telecast was funny. He said he wasn't a fan of either Floyd or Guerrero and since both had gloves on both had a chance during the fight. He also said that Floyd was no pfp to him. lol!

Guerrero was game but outclassed, the fght wasn't too exciting since it was pretty clear after a couple rounds Guerrero wasn't winning. I think Guerrero is a good fighter though, he'll probably make Ortiz quit with his pressure.

I don't see Floyd fighting Canelo, too young and strong. He's got 5 more fights with Showtime, he's not going to be fighting anyone with a chance anytime soon. Look for Floyd to be out until next may with his broken hand and then Khan in England if Khan manages to not get knocked out by then. Floyd knocks Khan clean out if this fight happens.

What I don't want to see is Floyd vs Danny Garcia, that's some fucking garbage.

Finally got enough time off work *spit* to watch. Random thoughts (not many):

*Excellent fight. I like this phase of Mayweather's career allot, I hope he keeps going for a while longer (and fights more often). He's a masterful boxer he don't need no stinkin' affletikz.

*I still think Guerrero is one of the better guys Floyd has fought. Not allot of physical talent but he's more skilled and smarter than first appearances suggest. A champs mentality too, he risked getting KO'd to win. Top marks.

*Why the shit was Floyd not deducted a point for holding Guerrero's left? Warning, warning, warning, warning...TAKE A FUCKING POINT, BYRD! If Floyd can't Wald-pussy it up it's an even better fight than it was.

*I hope Floyd has Khan next. Just for fun.

Strange thoughts Hut. I agree Gurrardo has ringsmarts, not as basic as he looks sometimes for sure, but I thought he didn't do enough. I don't think he took many risks at all really, he was gunshy from Floyd's super sharp counters as early as round 3 or so. Cotto was far more aggressive, and effective.

I also thought the fight itself was fairly tedious, though Floyd looked excellent, very sharp.

Granted I'm sleep deprived so Im probably talking pish but I thought Guerrero pretty much put it on the line as much as he could without getting reckless. His strategy was to punch with Floyd so there was a bit of waiting for Floyd to lead at times but I don't think there was any bitch in it.

Floyd's holding was my only frustration, personally. Or more precisely Byrd's failure to takethe point for it.
