BUT I guess Pacquiao deserve a break/easy fight he had too many back to back big fights....but let's not call this a good matchup because it's not...it's definitely not PPV worthy...if Pacquiao doesn't brutalize Rios in a one-sided fight then he needs to retire...

 

We don't know if Pac is done yet. Rios is good. Great? No.

If Manny is gun shy at all nobody around right now could prove it better than Rios. It doesn't matter if both guys are coming off losses. The style matchup promised action.

The Mayweather question doesn't equate. Either guy could dominate the other and it would do little to nothing to prove they could beat Floyd.

 

A year ago I would have laughed at the matchup, but Rios is a pretty dangerous opponent as a comeback from getting khtfo.

 

That Russian that brutalize Bradley a few months ago would bring it more than Rios.....but whatever...Rios is the much bigger NAME..but if the fight happens in CHINA..who will care about name?

Floyd can take another year off and fight Rios next cinco de mayo and we all will call it a SHIT fight...matchup...

 

"That Russian" might bring more than Rios, but it's speculation. Rios being a bigger name certainly isn't. If Pacquiao fought Provodnikov he'd still be fighting a guy who came off a loss.

 

rios better work on his defense. also, thinking about rios at 147, i'm reminded of castillo when he moved there and how ineffective he is there.

Manny Pacquiao was KO'ed (knocked out) in his last fight. Brandon Rios lost his last fight as well.

I was thinking about taking some holidays around November. Is Macau worth a look or is it a touristy piece of shit? Could be a fun spectacle.

I just read a quote from Hopkins saying he is shocked to hear about this fight. He considers Rios a very dangerous comeback fight because of the way Pacquiao got koed.

I think Rios will carry his power to 147 but Pacquiao really has to be mentally damaged after that ko to lose to this guy. I think from all the options from Top Rank at 140 and 147 this is the biggest name that can make Pacquiao look good.

I wouldn't be shocked if Rios beats him but I would still pick Manny to pick him apart.

 

If Rios beats Manny, it means Manny is done. Rios is still a scrubby face first brawler, he's a smaller Margarito.

 

Andre Ward looked pretty damn unimpressive for about his first dozen fights.

Unless he is completely shot, Pac should kill Rios. Good comeback/confidence builder fight for Pac, good measuring stick to see how much he has left, and either way it should be exciting for the fans to boot.

 

He managed to stop the bum he fought in his debut. Most good fighters do. He did get rocked by Kenny Kost though in his second fight.
