Gonzalez is talented, very loose, very natural, great aesthetics, but he has that thin neck and thin legs, narrow back. Burns stalking him now.

Didn't see him quitting like that, bit odd. Fair play to Ricky for getting the win, he looked horrible though.

Gorging on hagas for the last few months have not been good to him.

A win is win. Strong beard display once again from Ricky. Hearn needs to keep this guy active.

I like Burns but he's just a solid pro, decent champ. Saying that I'm not convinced by Broner yet either, he hasn't beaten anyone really good (I never rated DeMarco) and has arguably already lost. The second coming of Floyd Mayweather shouldn't be losing rounds to Gavin Rees.

Course he does. Take a stand-up boxer, subject him to some inactivity, and a host of legal issues including being sued by Frank Warren, and throw him in with a fast, shifty, switch-hitter and he is going to look bad. And Broner will make him look bad too but Broner is going to get hit back, and probably a lot more than Gonzalez was at that.

Maybe so, I've always found Ricky to be far too upright and stiff. Broner looks craftier but these guys were made to order, as is the next guy.

Gonzalez was in charge in the 7th and then got hit with one uppercut in there, and it was all downhill after that. His legs basically just gave up on him. Burns is tall, big, strong and very very ballsy. He also has a few tools in there. If Broner gets into any difficulty, his gut is going to get checked. To beat Burns he will have to nail him to the floor.

I don't really see any basis to assume that, honestly

I'd take Demarco over burns by stoppage

Gonzalez was shifty. Broner is fast. That's two different things. I don't see anything about Broner to suggest he has a great defence or a cute style.

Burns doing a lot of losing in this thread. I wonder would DeMarco be tempted to British shores in return for a career-high payday seeing as Mayweather has sucked the cash out of the US networks.

I was just clamouring for a big home town fight in Glesga (and a few others like TKO, Jimmy, Slice were saying that'd be koo'). None of us were picking Burns or anything like that, as Slice says he's a limited champ

No, we were clamouring for it, believing, as we did, that Gentleman Ricky Burns had what it took to beat this HipHopster and make us all feel safer out here in suburbia.

I guess those people hated Burns. Let's be realistic, Broner would beat the fuck out of him. I don't like broner at all though hope he gets his ass beat soon to.

Definitely. Malignaggi-Broner holds no interest at all for me, I like Paulie but I expect Broner to beat him comfortably as most world class fighters have already. As Hut said, Broner-Burns in the UK, Glasgow especially, would be a fun event. It'd get good numbers.
