People always care about "added dimensions". "Functional Weight Advantages"....."hasn't fought beyond the 10th before, Al"...etc etc etc. They have been used to make routine assignments "dangerous" and "interesting".

 

And this is the added dimension. The crowd basically carried Hatton to a win over Tszyu. It could make a difference, a lot more than "functional weight advantages" and "Oh, he's been forced to wear the Grant gloves, Al" bullshit that the networks are usually happy to pretend constitute a big difference.

Ward might get spooked, think he is behind on the cards, have his corner {who have themselves not really been tested} telling him that the fight "could be close, you need to finish strong"...causing him to walk onto something. According to the article I read about the Froch fight Ward's promoters bullshitted the official numbers that night so there's a chance those might be inflated, too
