And to think, a few years ago this would have been a high profile fight. Now it seems like hardly anybody knows it's happening. I expect Lara to outclass Angulo pretty one sidedly. He's still a top 5 junior middle, and Angulo has never been the same since the Kirkland beating, and lay off. Thoughts?
At this point, it's basically just a show case fight for Lara. Angulo even at his best got outclassed by Shitron, and beat up by Kirkland. Neither guy is as good as Lara. If Lara gives even HALF a damn, this will be target practice. If he wants to make a statement, there's no reason why he shouldn't stop Angulo.
Angulo COULDN'T Have Picked a WORSE Opponent, Stylistically...Angulo has a FAINT Puncher's Chance, but REED Fully Expects Lara to Outmanuever & COUNTER Angulo All Fight Looooooooong....He'll Be 1-2 Steps AHEAD of Angulo Throughout & Win by UD... REED:fightme:
We can't even say it's a good styles difference fight.....Angulo is too slloowwwwww.... terrible matchup for Angulo....easy victory for Lara...
What is this Vanes character up to? He was beating up Chavez Jr. in sparring the last time I saw him, around 4 years ago.
Lara is just too good for slow ass Angulo. I don't know why he's even take this fight. Also, this could be a title fight, depending on if Canelo drops the WBA or WBC belt. The WBC is being a fucking shady bitch making him choose becuase suddenly they don't support unification fights so the fight with Trout was only for the WBA belt. If he drops the WBA, the winner of this fight will be the WBA champ.
If REED Isn't Mistaken, Dawson-Stevenson & Gamboa-Perez are on HBO...Maidana-Lopez & Lara-Angulo are on Showtime... REED:fightme:
I think Angulo is underrated and Lara is overrated, but I agree that this matchup strongly favors Lara. I hope I'm wrong, though.
Lara's career highlight to me will always be beating Paul Williams up to the point where it was in doubt Paul would see the final bell, and magically losing in the scorecards. Everything else is basically a footnote.
i'm going with the upset and agree with mike that angulo is now underrated. i also think the kirkland loss was a freak thing. before running out of steam, angulo was on his way to knocking kirkland out. if they fought again angulo would surely win. angulo hits hard.
Angulo got outboxed clearly by Cintron, and beaten in 1 sided fashion by Kirkland. How is he underrated? What has he done to warrant not being rated high enough between or after those bad losses? :: I don't mind Angulo, but he's really not very good at world level. Lara should win fairly easily.
angulo drove from los angeles to florida in a compact car, by himself, the week of the cintron fight. i dont put any stock in that loss
Hahah, how come? What was the story at the time? Did he not have a proper camp or anything? Would he have done any better if he'd driven there in a Cadillac with one other person in the car?
That's mental. What do you think of the Kirkland loss? He looked pretty crap against Ishida's son too.
no excuses for the kirkland loss. he couldnt take him out, and got beatdown. like i said i dont put any stock in him losing to cintron. lara should win easily
He had fought 1 round in well over a year going into the Kirkland fight. And he looked really soft in the body. Excuses, I know. But I thought so at the time too.
guys you know a chode isn't a penis, right? also, angulo had reasons for his losses.. but bottom line, he just isn't that good.
Well, it is a certain type of penis. A penis that is wider than it is long, thereby being useless, and comical.
