i didnt think evans vs. henderson was bad. rashad got dropped hard in the first, but fought his ass off to win the next two rounds. he hurt hendo w/ some flurries too and did a good job of mixing up his attack and backing henderson up against the cage. roy nelson sucks.
Roy Nelson has gotten terrible. I know he was on a iffy litte streak but he has regressed a lot imo since he fought Arlovski. Now he's only a sloppy striker with a big right hand, bad movement and awful cardio. Just shows how awful the hw are that he was considered a top 10 contender by most. The whole card sucked on paper and it wasn't better in the cage. Hendo should retire and Rashad cage timidity has gotten out of control
more like over a month ago, close to two months ago. chris leben fought weeks prior to upsetting akiyama a few years back.
Man, I 100% agree on all points especially regarding Evans. The dude was basically done as a fighter after Machida put him to sleep. He's only looked good against Ortiz since the Machida loss and Tito sucked at that point.
Rashad looked good against Rampage as well and he had a fairly solid showing against Phil Davis. Ever since the Jones fight he's become a pretty poor fighter who has no idea what he's he wants to accomplish in the cage anymore. The sort of thing is typical when fighters are admittedly contemplating retirement/don't have their hearts in fighting anymore.
Wait, you think Evans looked good against Rampage and Davis? I thought he looked mediocre and tentative in both.
Against Rampage he hurt him with the first punch he threw and quickly was able to establish his offensive wrestling pretty quickly. Amazing takedown setups, explosive driving doubles... Obviously getting rocked was bad but he just has a bad chin that's going to happen. And he decisively dominated Phil Davis and had a really good fight gameplan for that fight
rashad DOMINATED davis. it was boring, but davis' inability to escape from bottom and lack of offense also had something to do w/ that. as for rampage, i think evans fought a smart fight and pretty much dominated aside from running into a knee in whichever round that was. pretty much looked the same vs. thiago silva as well. never really thought evans was a spectacular guy to watch. he stopped griffin and ortiz and that's about it.
