He has a more exciting style which produces less exciting results. Paulie gave the guy a TONNE of counterpunching opportunities last night by throwing fuck loads of punches and Scaredrian "Exciting Style" Loner went and hid behind his shoulder half the time.

If he had 1/4 the skill of toney or old-Floyd i'd be all for him fighting that way.

De choof. I don't find him remotely exciting or compelling to watch.

Even you made a reference to Rocky Juarez output. It's not like he has monster power to add some interest either.

Contrary to what Neil said, I found young Floyd to be 100 times more watchable. At least he's always had a fascinating amount of skill and talent.

He did do more fighting though. It might have been less effective than Broner's fighting, but more of it he did, that much is undeniable :dunno:

Not exactly my ideal or typical idea of fighting sure, but it WAS fighting. He was throwing more punches for the most part, more consistent workrate, and he was also commiting to combos, where as Broner was just 1 pot shot at a time.

Haha, something like that crossed my mind. I wonder what they'll do when the poll closes, probably offer Lucas 5% then claim he didn't want the fight.

you must be kidding. young floyd was a very exciting fighter to watch - ultra quick, flawless technique, made guys pay every time they missed. he was defensively minded, but still a great finisher with a killer instinct. chavez, n'dou, corrales, manfredy were all exciting fights, hatton too (if you consider that a "young" floyd).

broner fights like rocky juarez with a shoulder roll.

mayweather jr vs corrales was an impressive victory but i wouldnt consider it an exciting fight and i was there for it. not one i care to rewatch. broner so far has basically just walked guys down. mayweather jr moved a helluva lot more.

Haha, agreed all round. Believe it or not I was a Floyd fan at 130 to 140.

And yeah, just because a guy comes forward doesn't make him exciting. Juarez is one of the most boring fighters to watch I can think of, Winky was boring too.

There's nothing exciting about Broner..... until he gets khtfo jha habhabbaha ahabhabha.

Paulie landed nothing of substance. This professional boxing not amateur boxing. Paulie threw a ton of "don't hurt me punches."

Paulie fights like he has two broken hands, at all times.

The guys is gutsy and brave and has gotten more out of his talent then he has had any business doing, and I love him as an announcer and a trash-talker.................but, I've never found a single one of his bouts very compelling at all.

I think what was most disappointing about Broner's performance, is he was fighting like he knew Paulie couldn't ever hurt him, but he was still getting out-slicked and out-quicked by him on a consistent basis. He refused to take chances against a guy he KNEW couldn't hurt him.

He needs to be less worried about throwing the perfect punch and just get a little sloppy and wing a few from different angles. For a stalker, he should have been bullying Paulie in there a bit. Try and be a more refined version of somebody like Andre Berto...........not be afraid of getting a little dirty.
