Ward would beat Golovkin right now. Golovkin needs to stay at 160 and hope the paydays materialize.

Albeit boring, it's his best course of action. He should gun for Martinez really.

The top guys at 168 look more like light heavyweights. Kessler and Frock are solidly built 6'1 guys, and Ward is a lot bigger than Glovles too.

Not only is Golovkin well educated and clinical, he's nice and loose and fluid. He doesn't like to rush his work and sets a nice rhythm to his work. That impresses me alot.

Agree. That is what impressed me most. He cornered Macklin with subtle footwork that seemed effortless and efficient.

He reminds me of more controlled version of Julian Jackson.

Yeah, the best way to learn about current world champions is to watch them. Boxrec is a tool, not a substitute, for most evaluations.

Oosthuizen is better than he looked last night.

Quillin is an average world champ, not an average fighter. He may get better.

Golovkin fought 165 in the ams and is 5'11". He also seems like a non-big middleweight to me visually, but it may be deceiving on tv. I'd like to know what he walks around at.
If he is not at a size disadvantage to Ward, he is one of the very few guys who could conceivably fight Ward on even or better terms. If he is at a size disadvantage, he's still one of the very few guys who could beat Ward.

I think Golovkin can be rated as high as you want p4p. The top p4p tier in my view include Rigondeaux, Floyd, Ward, Wlad, and Golovkin in any order. Golovkin is the funnest to watch of those guys, if nothing else.

Golovkin has fought the guy DC wants to see him against--Andre Dirrell--and he handled him just fine.

Martinez is the obvious fight. Chavez Jr should sodomize his management if they let him get into the ring with Golovkin right now.

Dibella said last night he probably won't make Martinez/Golovkin.

Ward is the only guy from 154-168 that I'd pick over GGG without a doubt.

Froch MIGHT beat him based off Carl being so much bigger, but with Froch's defense....... I wouldn't put it past GGG blasting Froch.

Anything below 168 is a dead man against GGG.

He'd beat the shit outta Martinez, Canelo, and Floyd.

I think he'd beat the crap out of Canelo, not sure yet about Martinez or Floyd. If Mayweather wanted a catch weight against Alvarez, Floyd would probably want him to come in at the welter limit.

What has Chavez joonya been up to? If GGG can't get Martinez in the ring a fight against Chavez would be big money and publicity.

Chumpez Junior doesn't have a fraction of GGG's power and skill, and nearly had Martinez out. And old man Floyd was given a rough fight by little ass, faded Cotto. I don't like either of their chances against GGG.

And yessss!! Please make GGG vs Chavez Junior. Chumpez would be smoking plenty o weed after the fight to numb the pain.

Canelo would be easy work for GGG.

At one point, I thought Lara-GGG would be an interesting fight. But after seeing Lara twice dropped hard by Angulo, there's no doubt at all GGG cleans his Cuban clock.

Well if they let him in the ring with Golovkin he'll probably know better just how to sodomize them when the time comes.

I'd gladly pay PPV dollars to watch GGG punch holes in that big, slow, arrogant punching bag.

Martinez's EXPERIENCE, ATHLETICISM & UNDERRATED POP Makes him a (VERY) Slight Favorite, in REED's Opinion...Yes, Martinez has Shown VULNERABLITY in his Last Few Fights, but REED Thinks he Can DIAL UP a Final Big Performance or 2...

REED's Hoping it Happens in 2013...

It won't. Dibella says Maravilla ain't fighting again til 2014, and that his first fight back won't be GGG.

Yup. Knee is still an issue I believe. His mobility will be never be the same again. Not at 38 after a knee surgery. Which is why he ain't beating GGG.

Back in 2010 when he was a lot quicker, and more agile, it might be a different story.

Would've Been a Great, GREAT Fight...

Pavlik Would've had SIZE, REACH, Presumably STRENGTH in his Favor, In Addition to Being the STRAIGHTER Puncher...Pavlik was SLOW as Hell, but he DELIVERED his Shots w/Pretty Good Technique...REED Certainly ISN'T Calling Golovkin "Wild", but his Punches ARE WIDER than Pavlik's were...

Shorter SLIGHT Winger vs. a Taller, STRAIGHTER Guy, Punching Downwards???...Hmmm....No Guarantees Either Way & a SHAME that we Never Got to See It...

I think there's a slight overhyping going on here with GG. I like the fact that he brings much needed excitement to the sport but let's not get carried away.

I don't see much overhyping to be honest. We're almost unanimous in that Ward would beat him. We're only saying he'd crush everyone at 160, and from what we've seen of Gaybox and everyone else at 160, that's not a stretch at all.

Overhyping would be saying he'd clean up at 168 too.

I'd be surprised if it was particularly heavy at all. He is also usually listed at 5'10.

A fairly lean 5'10 too. He looks more like a good sized 154 pounder than a middleweight to me. Either way, he certainly has middleweight power, and hopefully he has a good chin too.
