he's obviously a lot more talented and skilled, but it remains to be seen who is better

Lucas has fought better opposition and what is in the mind and the heart of a fighter makes up a great deal of his value

Like huthut once accurately pointed out about Nicolino Locche (paraphrase) "He was likely slower, weaker and less physically gifted than almost all of his opponents... hell, he was probably less physically gifted than ME... but he was a genius and they weren't"

Yeah that's a very good point. There are a lot of intangibles in boxing. Some fighters just have "it" and know how to win at all costs. Let's at least say Gaybox looks a lot better at this stage, more talented and skilled.

And as I said in the MM forum, I have a good feeling about his chin and heart. Any solid punches he's taken thus far haven't even made him blink, and he just seems like a natural born fighter, so I imagine him to have a good fighting spirit too.

Mex, Crawford and Golovkin have made an impression on fightbeaters lately :bears:

    Golovkin/Crawford > Broner

Same here... he has a calmness and an easy energy about him... he looks like a guy who is prepared to roll with the punches... I figure he'll prove to be just fine in the resilience department

I'm picking Golovkin over Matthysse. Might be a case of who you just prefer tbh. Matthysse never managed to stop or knockout Judah or Alexander (but stylistically it wasn't easy for Matthysse tbf), but he blasted through Peterson which most never predicted and so early on. Golovkin has blasted through everyone he's fought. Even fucked up the great Ishida in no time at all. Ishida had never been beaten inside the distance and had never been beaten in that kind of fashion. Macklin had never been fucked up like that before.

Both different types of fighters but both talented and both powerful.

I've counted out Froch FAR too many times to say without a doubt GGG beats him.

I thought Kess would kill. I thought AA would kill him. I thought Bute would kill him. All 3 times the farmer proved me wrong. So if I say GGG will kill him, I'm setting myself up for failure.

I dunno who I'd favor in GGG-Froch. GGG is more talented than Froch, but Froch is much bigger and has all the proven intangibles.

Plus, let's be honest. Froch is a light year better than Macklin.

It's possible Froch would be too big, and tough for GGG. Or, it's possible GGG is just too powerful and accurate for Froch.

If I had to pick, I'd favor GGG. But if Froch proved me wrong for a 4th time, I wouldn't be shocked.

I know you hate Froch, but he's one HELLUVA fighter.

Definitely PREMATURE to Favor GGG Over Froch...

GGG has Yet to Face the SLIGHTEST Bit of Adversity...Nobody's Come Close to Making him CONSIDER Doing Something Different...Like Broner, we've Seen What GGG Can Do vs. Certain Styles...NOW'S the Time to Match him Up w/UNfavorable Styles, to See what Happens...

Is Martinez that fighter though? His style is like no other, but I see GGG just biding his time in that matchup. Martinez will use plenty of lateral movement, snap his jab out and throw some flashy combos, but you'd feel GGG would eventually pin him down.

They have the SAME General Bodytype & are SEEK & DESTROY Fighters w/HUGE Power...Even if Golovkin has a More LEARNED, More VARIED Attack, there's a SIMILARITY There, Bro...

Like Cotto & Canelo are SIMILAR, Like Tommy Hearns, Diego Corrales & Paul Williams are SIMILAR, GGG is @ Least SOMEWHAT Similar to David LeMeiux....

Brother REED, I wouldn't say Hearns should suffer the insult of being mentioned in a group with Diego and Tall Paul

All three were tall and slender... but Hearns was an outside fighter and Diego and Paul were retards who had no idea how to use their height (still, both were good fighters)

I have to say I agree there is no comparison between Hearns and the other 2. They are all lanky and very tall for their weight class, but that's where the similarity ends.

In fact, I always found it ironic that despite their huge height for their weight, Chico and Tall Paul fought absolutely nothing like Hearns, completely giving up their height advantage to fight inside

Caballero too to some extent, pretty odd really, considering quite how tall all 3 of them are for their weight class.

And REED, regarding LeMoo, I just don't see it at all amigo :dunno:

I don't think "similar build" is a valid point, as those 2 have completely average height and built, both 5'10, average height and average physique. It's not like they have a strange build for their weight, like Hearns, or Tua etc etc.

So really it's just that they are both punchers, but to me that's like comparing Floyd to Cory Spinks as they are both black and fairly defensive "boxers", I just see nothing similar at all about their styles, plus they are 2 dramatically different levels of fighter.
