FAN-FRIENDLY Fight, For Sure...Are there Any OBSTACLES Preventing it from Happening???...Thoughts on HOW it'd Play Out???... REED:dunno:
One recalls the words of the last great President of the United States, George W Bush, when he recalled that there are "Known Knowns, Unknown Knowns, Known Nouns and Nothings Known". Quite. This fight is the same. We know that, technically and innately, Golovkin is a superior boxer and superior technician. Not up for discussion. But we don't know how he would deal with the mass and the sheer plodding relentlessness of Chavez Jr. Martinez was put down by Williams, cut by Dzindzuruk, floored by Macklin. But Chavez Jr damn near finished him....and this is after 11 rounds of being punched in his downer noggin. However, Martinez threw the same 1-2 all night versus Chavez Jr and Chavez Jr ate it all night. He showed no inventiveness beyond trying to apply a ridiculous size advantage. He seems to have chemical infatuations, magic cereal and magic underpants and this could make him dangerous. But.....innately, there is fuck all there. He's a big tough dummy who seems to cut weight real well and pack it on real well. Prior to Martinez, he was dealing with the Dandy Andy Lee's and the John Duddy's of this World, and showed no major-league stopping power in either fight. I also put Golovkin down as better than Maravilla, relatively and in real terms. He's better now and he might have always been better. You have to think that a smart fighter with stinging, hurtful punches can put Chavez Jr into the same shell that Maravilla put him in........and then keep him there long enough to hurt him often enough to force a stoppage. This is the fight Gaybox should go for now, being that Martinez is out till 2014. Chavez Jr is way more famous than he should be, so would be good exposure for Gaybox. He'd also thrash the shit out of Jr. Size difference or not, I can't see jr lasting the distance.
Only obstacle is Junior going to fight Vera in September, but I'm sure negotiations between team Junior and GGG can take place a deal can be struck. More incentive for Junior. He'd be up for the challenge and make more of a name for himself. Would sell well.

Foreman avoided Quarry, Bowe avoided Lewis, Tapia avoided Mark Johnson, every generation has a noted duck job and Maravilla MIGHT be forgiven as he's old and a bit injury-prone now.

I hope it happens, would be an interesting match for sure :bears: I just hope Martinez has more left than it appeared in the Murray fight, otherwise he's going to take a hardcore beating.
