There's three junior middles in history who many have said were "rushed"; Vargas, David Reid, and Davey Moore. I think Vargas, and Moore were both better than Reid, so who wins between these two?
Reid wasn't rushed at all... he just wasn't that good a fighter... He HAD TO be rushed in order to get a belt, because any other method would have gotten him picked off before he could cash in as a pro on his gold medal Vargas and Moore seem rushed in hindsight, but they each notched quality wins and belts before they lost Vargas was a better boxer than Moore but I think Moore was the crisper puncher... If Vargas keeps his discipline and boxes the way he did against Quartey (well most of the time anyway) I think he can win it... If he gets too offensive minded, he probably gets hurt and Moore is right back in it to win it
Vargas was more skilled and bigger, I'd have to go with him. Duran vs Vargas at 154 would be an interesting scrap (probably been done before?)
