Cotto would win, but it wouldn't be the one sided destruction we once suspected. Aside from chin, Cotto was better than Danny at everything else. But Garcia would give him a good fight, and might even hurt him once or twice.
Danny has one HELLUVA chin, and Cotto was never a murderous puncher. I do think he would ultimately outclass Danny, and kick his ass, but Garcia would have his moments and acquit himself well. In other words, Cotto wouldn't just blow through him as he did to Kelson Pinto.
Pretty good fight. I think Garcia buzzes Cotto a few times but doesn't get him on the verge of a knockout. Cotto 7 rounds to 5.

No, he's not a great fighter. But, as a technician he was a tier above Danny. Danny's a natural counter puncher who LIKES it when guys come to him, but in order to have a shot here he'd have to come forward more and look to force a war, because he's not outboxing Cotto.
I'd agree... Cotto is more talented and smoother and he'd be favored to win... I do like Garcia's advantages in durability and he's good at adapting to what is in fornt of him
Cotto is a clear level above Danny, I think he'd win around 8 rounds to 4. Lest we not forget, though he looked very good beating Lucas, he did get schooled by ye olde shot super bantamweight Morales.
I'm not sure Cotto chin would held up to Garcia bombs the way Mathysse's did. And Cotto, especially at 140, was hittable. Tough fight to predict, I'd give a slight edge to Garcia.
Azazel, big difference between hurting Cotto and taking him out. There's NO DOUBT Garcia has the pop to have hurt Cotto, but taking Miggy out is much harder than hurting him.
And Cotto would be going to Garcia's body alot more often.....and Garcia's bombs? 16 kos in 27 fights? Really?...Cotto would be just fine taking Garcia's bombs....:kick:
Garcia has more power than his KO% indicates, BUT, I do think some are overrated his power. As far as Rican punchers go, he damn sure ain't Tito, Gomez, or Rosario. He can crack though with his left hook. Hard enough to hurt Miggy, but not enough to KO him. It takes a BEATING to take Cotto, and Garcia wouldn't lay a beating on him.
Cotto's never been hurt by someone who didn't have pop. It's like he's trash-Khan. Corley hurt him badly, but Corley also hurt Floyd. And Torres hurt him, but Torres could punch.
Never said he didn't. But it takes a beating to actually take him out. Unless of course, you're a special type of puncher like Hearns, Tito, or Cuevas. Those guys could wack Cotto out early. But Danny Garcia? Nah.
