Fighters were knocked down but managed to get up and were allowed to continue but should have just stayed down.

I'll start with Hearns-Barkley I. Credit to Tommy for getting back to his feet and shame on that douche bag Richard Steele for not stopping it. Hearns looked like a zombie when he struggled back to his feet. He should have stayed on his back.

And this is the same Dick Steele that deemed Meldrick Taylor unable to continue against Chavez despite being far more aware and present than Hearns was after the Barkley left hook.

Curry-McCrory was the very first that came to mind. Milton was GONE from that left hook. Mills Lane should have stopped it. Instead he let Curry land one more right that officially finished the job.

That was one of the most beautiful left hooks ever thrown.

The worst such case from recent years I can think of is this. The ref lets Enzo Maccarinelli continue fighting. The first KD at 0.20

Honestly, Lou Bizzarro died 4 times against Duran and was allowed to continue each time, leading to his 5th and final death

getting up from the 2nd KD right before he got splattered for the last time was unbelievable

I heard Leonard modeled his fight plan for the rematch with Duran on Bizzaro's tactics from the later rounds in this fight

Nothing really comes to mind but im sure there are hundreds of examples.

Whoever this tag bandit is will probably help increase new members here. I sense a definite spike in web traffic coming from the ken patera butt baby demographic

    yeah it was nuts

That fight should have been stopped after the first two knockdowns rounds earlier

What I don't understand is that Bizzarro began running from the opening bell and then rose from three knockdowns that would have killed most people and kept right on running for another few rounds before Duran finally laid him out for good with two more utterly HORRENDOUS knockdowns... He was never winning the fight, he barely threw any punches just ran away... Why go through all of that??? Why would he fight in such a cowardly fashion but then get up from those knockdowns??

Here's one of recent vintage: Donaire-Montiel. It was a miracle Montiel got up at all but he was gone. The ref was an idiot for not waving it off.
