Maidana hasn't fought at 140 for a while. I don't know why this fight wouldn't be at 147.

Because somebody with a functional bargaining advantage told him to be.

I also think this should be an easy fight for Broner. Maidana is a horrible fighter but what's worse for him is lately he's been trying to learn how to box. On paper that sounds good but now he'll be doing more thinking then reacting which means he'll probably be even slower. Nobody will ever beat Maidana as nice as Alexander did but Broner should be able to do a convincing job.

Maidana is a natural junior welter. He can beat the Soto Karasses and Whoesito Lopez's of the world at 147, because of his power, but to me he looks a bit pudgy at welter. Both he and Broner are better suited for 140.

Alexander was horrible in that fight (as in all his fights). Alexander is offensive to watch.

maidana is sloppy but his resumé is legit. wins over corley, cayo, morales, ortiz, soto karrass, lopez, broner. he took a few of those guys zeros. and to me he should also have wins over khan and kotelnik

Over Kotelnik yes but I think Khan beat him pretty clearly. If it was a 15 rounder Chino would have knocked him out though.

    I had Maidana/Khan a draw

Without the early knockdown, he'd have won clearly

also found it amusing hearing malonaggi doing the telecast. was almost like hearing fred goldman give a play by play of the OJ trial as it happened live.

Yep. I always cringe when fighters do that, you're basically begging to get your jawbone snapped in half.
