Yeah, I was thinking something similar - add in 'Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence' with a couple of major actors in it and you've got a big hit. (critics-wise, anyway)

    THE RAILWAY MAN

    GENRE - DRAMA/HISTORY

PREMISE - A former British Army officer, who was tortured as a prisoner of war at a Japanese labor camp during World War II, discovers that the man responsible for much of his treatment is still alive and sets out to confront him. (taken from imdb).

CRITIQUE - Saw this and thought it was an outstanding film. Had very good dialogue, pace, acting and did a cool thing by telling the guys past with flash backs. I was worried about watching the torture scenes but other than a pretty bad caning it wasn't bad at all. If you're looking for a good drama, I highly recommend this.

    SCORE - 8/10
