STUPID Fight by Team Garcia...The Article is Trying to Make it Analogous to Pac-Dela, but Pac was ALREADY Considered on the DECLINE by then & Dela was SHOT...Garcia WON'T Beat Pacquiao & Even if he Did, What would he Do from There; Fight BIGGER Men Full-Time???...You Don't "Cash Out" w/UNDEFEATED Guys in their Mid 20's...

i disagree. if he can get the fight he may as well take it. who knows if he'll ever got a shot in his life to make 3-5 million in one fight. if he wins he hit the jackpot and will become the top mexican in boxing.

Garcia's GOOD, but he's Not as DYNAMIC as Pac...Winning 1 Fight vs. a Guy in a MUCH Higher Weight Class is Fine, but Garcia DOESN'T Have What it Takes to REPLICATE Pacquiao's SUCCESS @ Higher Weights...Even if he BEAT Pac, he'd LOSE to Lesser Guys Sooooon Thereafter, Which would LESSEN Any Newly Found Fandom he Acquires...

he could lose at lightweight. if he goes up and beats pacquiao he becomes a star. he will be well paid to face whoever he's in the ring with. he doesnt have to stay at welterweight. i dont really care to see the fight as i think it would be garbage, but i can understand why garcia would want it. arum of course would want it since he owns both men

Michael "Mikey" Garcia and Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao are in different weight classifications.

    Good for him.

I also think a Pac/Garcia would be good for both men. Who else is out there for Pac to fight?

if he leaves arum then a pacquiao fight is obviously not possible.

pacquiao is looking at fights against alvarado if he wins in may, or bradley again. fights no one gives a fuck about.

its funny but if Garcia leaves arum we all know where he's going. HBO may be becoming the triple A affiliate for showtime

stupid move by Garcia imo. I don't see who he could fight in GB stable that would warrant him losing time, maybe years, of his career

While it's Not Good for Boxing Overall, it IS Funny to See HBO Being Made to SQUIRM as More & MORE Fighters Align Themselves w/Haymon/GBP/Showtime...

HBO's Acted like they've OWNED Boxing for Decades Now...

You're Right, HBO's Talent Pool PALES In Comparison to What Showtime is Assembling...Losing Garcia Would Be a CRIPPLING Blow to the Immediate Future of HBO...Btwn Them & Top Rank Someone's Gonna Have to SWALLOW Some Pride, OPEN the Lines of Communication & Try To Establish a WORKING Relationship w/Haymon/GBP/Showtime...

As of Now, they're Getting their Asses Kicked...

I tend to agree with Neil. Not exactly a cash out fight, because it's the kind of opportunity you just don't turn down.

Plus there's no shame in losing to Pacquiao, I can't see it denting Garcia's reputation. Well, unless he gets KO'd by a jab, or quits or something.

My favorite fight to point to for management screwing a fighter is when Rosado left his mandatory status for Grady Brewer's title and moved up to fight Golovkin. Even though that was for HBO money, it was almost certainly a monumental fuck up at the time and in retrospect.

Fighting Pacquiao is nothing like that. A fighter should almost always take a fight like this, if possible. Even in the worst-case scenario, the guy will earn about 7 fights' worth of income in one night, maybe more.

But What it he Sustains 7 Fights Worth of PUNISHMENT, or More, In that 1 Fight???...

STRENGTH, SPEED, SKILL, POWER, All Advantages to Pacquiao...Even in his Diminished State, Pac is Still Rather COMBATIVE & Looks to Inflict Punishment...The Physical TOLL is Higher when Facing Pacquiao, than it is for Mayweather, for Example...

If Garcia WORKED his Way up to a Pac Fight, ACCLIMATED Himself to the Weight a Bit, It'd Make More Sense...Going STRAIGHT to Pacquiao is a Dangerous Move, on the Brink of FOOLISH...

This is the kind of shit I hate about contracts in general. The little guy who doesn't know a lot can obviously get screwed over. At the same time it brings into the question the purpose of one if either party decides they could get a better deal somewhere else.

It's not the same thing, but imagine you're a landlord and negotiate a lease agreement. They agree to all of the terms and conditions and then well before the term is over find a place they like more. They could have more square footage and pay less rent.

    So?

garcia claims he wants parity with gamboa:lol: fair enough but his retarded logic was "if he's getting 1.5 million and Im getting a million then it cant happen. if they cut his purse to 1 million we have a deal!"

YOURE STILL GETTING a MILLION YOU RETARDED FUCK

That's the "logic" of some people.

I'm getting paid 10 dollars per hour and my co-worker is getting 11. That's not fair! He's not worth 11! In fact he's only worth 9.50!

Boss agrees that the one guy is not worth 11 and puts them both to 9.50.

It's parity and everybody is happy. :bears:

I think if Mikey faces pac he would either lose by decision or lose by a KO, but he won't get destroyed as to ruin his career. He will come in and box Pacquiao, and his brother might throw in the towel if it starts getting ugly. He should take the fight IMO.
