Provo and his team want Marquez badly, but Marquez instead is going to face........... fucking Alvarado!

Poor Alvarado. That guy is gonna be brain damaged by year's end.

Marquez CLEARLY wants no parts of a young, hungry beast like Provo at this stage.

Can't say I blame him... He'd get knocked around pretty good against that guy

Yup. He was dropped, and roughed up against that bum Kat. And that was four years ago. He's four years older now, not as sharp, and Provo is Kat 10x.

Yeah Marquez shouldn't have to fight this guy. Let the younger dudes handle him. Not sure if he even beats Alvarado.

win or lose, it's a punishing fight for marquez that he doesn't need at this point. but then again, i dont see him fighting pac or bradley again anytime soon. he should retire.

Marquez is Basically Painting Himself Into a Corner...

He's Not Keen on Fighting Provo & he's Been Reticent About Facing Pac a 5th Time...After Alvarado (Which ISN'T Even Remotely a PPV Worthy Bout), Then What???...

I don't expect Marquez to be taking tough fights at this stage of his career.. He's banking some cash before retirement and after what he's given to the sport & all the tough fights he's been in, I'm OK with that. Dude is a 40 year old former featherweight, he's got a lot of miles on him for a small guy.

    Well Said...

But the Thing is, Marquez has Always Been the B-Side of His Biggest Paydays...To Command the Purses he Wants, he's GOT to Face a Compelling Opponent...Marquez-Alvarado Would LOSE Money, if a Promoter DARES to Make it a PPV Fight...

Pac Could Beat Up the Brandon Rios' of the World for Another 2-3 Years, for LARGE Sums of Money...Floyd Can Make Upwards of $30 Mil, Facing Amir KhanISH Foes...Despite Marquez's GREATNESS, he's Never Had the Luxury of Facing LESSER Guys for TOP Dollar...

Marquez Certainly DESERVES Some Low Risk, High Reward Options, but there Simply AREN'T Many for Him...

i'll go check out marquez-alvarado at the fabulous forum. tough fight for marquez though. alvarado is a bigger taller guy and if he makes marquez lead he will give him all sorts of problems.

Marquez is on his last legs man, cut him some slack. I'd retire if I were him, he got nothing else to prove and Provo is a dangerous fight at this point in his career. You can't call Marquez a ducker when he's faced the best throughout his career.

Marquez should be critized for the Alvarado fight because of the excuse he is giving. He says all he cares for is the 147 belt. He said if Provo had that belt he would be gunning for him. Because Provo has the 140 belt he has nothing to gain by fighting him. So he wants the winner of Pacquiao/Bradley at the end of the year but he wants a live tune up first.

If the Provo fight does nothing for him legacy wise than the guy who quit against him means even less. Also you cant' have a tune up on PPV.

I don't mind him fighting Alvarado except when he claims the Provo fight is meaningless.

Speaking on Provo and Rios. I read that ARum and Provo's team claim that Rios can't make 140. But I just saw a video with Rios and Robert Garcia where they claim it's bullshit and they've been waiting for the Provo fight.
