But Broner NEVER Did Anything to COMPROMISE or Soooo Much as TEST Maidana's Balance... He Stood FLAT FOOTED In Front of Maidana, UNsuccessfully Using Another Man's Shoulder Roll, Head STATIONARY, like a Statue...Against an Opponent like THAT, it's Not Hard to Look "Better Balanced & Less Telegraphed"...Rest Assured, Against Floyd, it'll Be the SAME Ol' POOR Balance Having, WINGING, Face First SLUGGING Maidana We've Always Seen...Maidana's Punches LANDED will Be ABYSMAL... REED:hammert:
Maidana threw about 1000 punches while punches came back at him. That was a a test of his balance :scratcher:
All relative though innit. He is craftier than he was for sure. Not only that, but he was clearly the craftier of the 2 in the Broner fight.
If Maidana knocked Floyd unconscious it would be a greater historical moment than the Signing of the Magna Carta or the Fall of the Berlin Wall.
:: :bears: True though, it's that simple. Unless you knock a guy out with the first punch you throw, or vice versa, then every moment of the fight is a test of your balance.
So Aaron Pryor had GOOD Balance, Since he Threw "Thousands of Punches While a Bunch Came Back @ him"???... In & Of Itself, REED Doesn't See Much Correlation btwn Workrate & Balance... REED:nono:
Basically his weight is more balanced between his feet (rather than heavily over the front foot) & his footwork's better as a result. Everything's a bit better in fact. He can come in behind a jab while staying more defensively sound and he isn't having to wing in quite as wildly. He's still on the wild side obviously.....but there's a noticeable improvement between the Khan and Broner fight, imo
That's a DIRECT Result of Broner's FLAT-FOOTED Approach Though... As he Does w/Every Other Opponent, Broner Planted his Fight Right in FRONT of Maidana, Threw Punches ECONOMICALLY, DIDN'T Jab @ All & Didn't Move his Head Either...& When that DIDN'T Work, Broner LACKED a Plan-B...Khan's Not Nearly as STATIONARY as Broner, so Maidana WOULD Appear to Have "Improved" Balance, in REED's Opinion... Just Watch, he'll Be the Same Ol' CLUMSY Maidana We're Accustomed To, when he's in the Ring w/Floyd... REED:hammert:
The difference was equally noticeable against Lopez. He's jabbing his way in now and pushing off the back foot more. He used to just be a crap Jack Dempsey impersonation, way over the front foot and winging shots from way out on the way in. He looks like a pro boxer now.
Totally. He used to look so fucking old school, he looked like a caveman. Face first, leaning forwards, throwing haymakers. He is way more polished now. Better footwork, more patience, a jab, a few feints etc. Sure he'll look clumsy and basic against a complete master like Floyd, but that doesn't change the fact that he's improved. And I do think he'll do better than Khan would have done.
There's NOfuckingCHANCE of that, Based on the STYLISTIC Qualities Discussed in Both Mayweather-Maidana Threads....Maidana Has Next to NO Chance of Landing a FLUSH Headshot on Floyd, the ENTIRE Fight...Not Even Sooooo Much as a JAB... Maidana's is a Style Floyd has NITPICKED, Successfully DISSECTED & Broken Down for the BULK of his Career...Floyd in AUTO-PILOT Completely SCHOOLS Maidana & Wins 10-2 MINIMUM, 12-0, if Floyd's ENGAGED like he's Been his Last 2 Bouts...Khan's More of a PUZZLE, he's TALL, he's ATHLETIC & he's Still Relatively YOUNG...After 3 Rounds, there's a 50-50 Chance Khan Could Be WINNING this Fight...After 3 Rounds of Floyd-Maidana, Floyd Will ALREADY Have the Bout in his Backpocket... REED Would MUCH Rather See Floyd Make Some Adjustments, Potentially have to Overcome a Deficit & Deal w/the Pressure of NOT Allowing Khan to Last the Distance w/Him...However Slight, there's @ Least SOME Level of SUSPENSE to Floyd-Khan, Which is Completely NONfuckingEXISTENT in Floyd-Maidana... REED:hammert:
khan has zero chance to beat mayweather jr. maidana has a slim punchers chance. 5% is better than zero
You're like one of those mean scientists bringing up facts to shit on people's hopes and dreams. :crying:
Nah, BOTH Have a 0% Chance of BEATING Floyd... REED is Talking about Winning ROUNDS...REED Gives Khan a MUCH Better Chance of Winning ROUNDS vs. Floyd, than he Does Maidana... REED:hammert:
Even if the NSAC ALLOWED Maidana's Corner to Bring Linament to the Ring & Put it on His Head and Gloves, he WOULDN'T get Close Enough to Rub it in Floyd's Eyes... Sorry... It's a SHIT Fight... REEDointlaugh:
Yep. I would be thrilled if Maidana could at least get in something like a Mosley moment but it's not going to happen.
Maidana would be lucky to win 1 round in 100 fights with Floyd. Speed is speed.. yeah, Floyd would figure him out & start timing him, but it wouldn't just be a one-sided sparring session for the entire fight at least
Speed is speed but Broner had speed too.....Floyd is just too talented for a guy who is basically a glorified clubfighter. I agree with Reed...while big punches end fights, styles make them and Khan would at least visit a veneer of respectability on the affair. People would say after that "Khan might have won if he had a chin" or "Khan might have won if he wasn't so easy to hit"...but with Maidana, there's never going to be any opportunity to make it into a viable, appreciable contest. They won't even have the figment of "Functional Weight Advantages", be they of the fictitious Victoria Ortiz class or the more genuine Salido variety. This is a Turkey Shoot for Floyd against a guy who is just brave enough to keep giving him gaps.
Seems like you misunderstood my post. I was referring to Khan when I said "speed is speed." Khan is a better fight for Floyd than Maidana. LISB ("Like I said before") a younger Floyd would give Maidana an awful beating.. the 2014 version will just cruise to an easy UD.
Floyd called out Khan and said if he fights Broner on the undercard of the Maidana fight & wins, he'll fight him. Be interesting to see. Broner sucks bad, but he has enough pop at 147 to take out Khan.
Broner would not beat Khan. Khan has done far better against their two common opponents, I know that isn't the be all and end all but it says something. Plus Broner just isn't very good.
