I wasn't aware we were saying "knockout" as in "Julian Jackson vs. some mandatory" ... I figured we just meant finish the fight inside the distance

Barkley was an abnormally resilient fighter, a psycho with no regard for his own well-being and he was fighting a 37 year old man

Canelo is a guy with a very suspect gas tank who appears easy to push back and overwhelm with quality offense... Duran would beat the hell out of him... I would say he's got at least a 50% chance of stopping him

Duran would beat up Canelo worse than he did Palomino and Moore.

I agree with you on both counts. You see what I mean about him even getting stung by Floyd? You're right, he was backed up when Floyd landed clean. Hearns would absolutely give him the Cuevas treatment, especially because Canelo would be a sitting duck. He'd be sitting there waiting to counter, and just get blasted into bolivian with the right hand. It's not like he'd be bobbing and weaving like a prime Tyson, or getting inside, roughing Hearns up like any shorter fighter should.

And yeah, he is a pretty decent counter puncher, that's what he has going for him. He has better timing and accuracy than I gave him credit for at first, and good counters.

I just REALLY can't see Canelo lasting the distance with Duran, a good, on form Duran at any weight.

Again, too much priority is being put on weight. Canelo is a chunky, fat legged little fucker, so his weight makes him seem bigger than he really is.

At middleweight he'll be pushed around and KO'd, I almost guarantee it. I bet he doesn't have a middleweight chin, or strength, or punch. He'll seem very undersized at 160.

Duran would do what he wanted with Canelo, and just by way of sheer relentless beating, Canelo would be stopped. Plus while not glass, I think the fact that he's getting stung and backed up by Floyd at 154 doesn't bode that well for his chin, he's certainly not even approaching the class of chin of a human punching bag like Plasterito.

Had to bring this back because I heard a couple more...

"Only Roberto Duran fanboys say that he had quick hands."

"Pacquiao would Terry Norris worse than he did Cotto."

To mention Canelo bean in the same sentence with any of the great fighters like Duran is sacrilage. The kid is barely 20 and already gets winded in fights. Guys like barkely? and for that matter Pryer? to say they "got hit" occasionally and that makes them vulnerable is silly. Duran, Barkley, Hearns, Pryer etc all had a killer instinct. Canelo was put off by Floyd in a way that these other guys would not be. Not saying Floyd would not win some of those match ups but he would have faced a lot more firepower than Canelo!
