Quite obviously I disagree with the asinine assertion that a guy who has KO'd a lengthy list of unranked tomato cans is somehow superior in resume to the guy who knocked out the lineal champion in one round and dominated another "name'" in Tavoris Cloud.

He may not be a terrible fighter but him nearly beating Cloud does nothing to vindicate him as a legitimate opponent. Kovalev has been carefully matched and there is no way to deny it.

If he beats Bute, Hopkins, Pascal, Stevenson or someone of actual merit it would make HBO and the state of boxing look less like a joke before anointing him the king of the division.

This is quite literally the only criteria ever needed for judging a fight, and I CHALLENGE someone to dare oppose my rationale that Floyd Mayweather will be KO'd by the powerful punching Marcos Maidana because...well Floyd was once hurt by Chop Chop Corley and clearly will be knocked out by any puncher.

 

Ward doesn't have an "incredible speed edge" over Kov. Ward doesn't have Floyd/Roy type quickness, and Kov isn't a sloth. Kov is quicker, and more fluid than Froch, and Ward didn't even white wash Froch.

 

Kovalev is extremely slow. He has no footspeed and average handspeed. You have poor eyesight. Especially since Ward won at least 8 rounds against Froch.
