    did not like Tennenbaums... don't like that guy's films... it's all so predictably quirky and cute... I don't detest him the way I do Tim Burton or Tarantino, but his films leave me cold

    Nah i love him. The problem is he's been imitated so much and the imitators are fucking dreadful. But Life Aquatic was easily in my top 3 faves of the decade. Tennenbaums not as much....that might slip out my top ten if i rewrote again. Everything between about 6-15 is much of a muchness for me. But I still liked it.

    Agreed. I liked how the movie was in black and white and the only musical score was from a lone violin throughout the entire feelm.

    while I know that the consensus is that it was meant to be a rye, sarcastic commentary on the consequences of unchecked Capitalist Plutocracy, I am of the opinion that the film was really about the search for god and the yearning of the many for fairness pitted against the yearning of some for a jungle anarchy
