I'm sure after finding out, he hit Ramos square in the nuts.

It doesn't seem like former Puelto Lican greats end up in good shape, whether physically of financially.

How many punches did Pepe Ramos take in Trinidad's career?

The guy cruelly held the money out in his left hand while moving laterally in a subtle manner ... Tito never had a chance

Subtle movements always bothered Tito but especially those coming from people supposed to be working in his corner...

Agreed. I'm no Tito fan, but it's fucking horrible for any fighter to be skanked of pretty much all their earnings. Jesus.

I'd probably feel sorry for even Khan in that scenario. Maybe. A bit. Not Broner though, he's the one exception I can think of.

He's going to have move back to his old neighborhood and fight Tommy Morrison in the street. His son will start wearing an earring.

As this reads, it's not really clear if this is the advisor's fault. Recently downgraded to junk bond status means they probably were a higher status at the time of the investments. If these had been highest grade at the time they were bought, the advisor still fucked up by not diversifying better, but it's a different kind of fuck up than investing in junk in the first place.

    This really sucks, if true.

Trinidad should've just put it all in a savings account. At least all the money would still be there for him into old age

    SAD News...

Tito will ALWAYS Be Taken Care of In Puerto Rico, but Still, Dude SHOULDN'T Have to Live Off his Popularity in his Homeland...Nobody EARNS their Money to the Degree a Professional FIGHTER Does...As OFTEN As it Happens, it's Still TRAGIC Whenever a Fighter Goes Broke...

Government bonds provide an income stream but you still have to monitor the creditworthiness of the issuer so you avoid capital losses. Puerto Rico is in serious credit trouble, meaning in order to keep borrowing yields go through the roof(remember Greece?) and face value of existing bonds plunge.

Exactly. He prolly laddered the bonds. Inflation is a bitch and the problem with bonds is that in addition to a downgrade one has to always worry about inflation

Hanzy when you put that kind of money in a savings account inflation eats it alive. To at least keep up with inflation you have to earn way more than the interest on an bank account or a CD.

Tito should have spent the money on dancing girls and beer. At least then he could say like Sugar R Robinson that he lived it up.

Inflation had absolutely nothing to do with this.
