    In recent days rewatched:

The Warriors One of my favorite films got massacred by a stupid 'director's cut' which edited the film like a comicbook with panels and balloons dialogue and a stupid voiceover introduction alluding to ancient roman warriors. Dumb edition. Good thing I still have my old dvd original version. The film a solid 8.5/10, this Blu-ray director's cut 6/10

Chariots of Fire like a good wine this classic film gets better and better as years pass. I always discover little details I missed in previous viewings. Vangelis music, which was at first a weird choice for a period film, remains powerful. 9/10

Adam the 1983 tv movie about the disappearance and murder of the boy Adam Welsh and how this crime affected his parents, remains a powerful drama that is still relevant today as it was 31 years ago. The scene where the dad trashes a bed upon being told his boy was found decapitated is truly heartbreaking. 8/10

Dark Knight rises: 4/10. Silly stuff, utter crap compared to the second one.

    Dark Water 4.5/10

Pretty ridiculous, convoluted film with "Sixth Sense" overtones

Some good actors are in it, but it's at best a mediocre film... some fairly creepy visuals and settings, but almost too creepy to be believable... would any young woman on her own raising a little girl with at least some means willingly move into such a building? Hard to believe once you see it... I wouldn't recommend this film at all unless you haven't watched a TV or a movie in 20 years and you desperately want to and you finally have a TV and a blue ray/dvd player in front of you and a copy of this film is the only thing you can watch... then it's probably good entertainment

It's a remake. The original is better.

  11. Went to see 'Locke' and it was very good - from an acting PoV only.
As a movie-for-entertainment? Not so good.

8/10 for the former, 5/10 for the latter.

Started watching an Adam Sandler movie the other night and had to IMDB what it was. I got hooked. It was mostly a romantic dramady. That film? Punch Drunk Love. Really good movie, great, pacing, acting, directing, dialogue and the scoring really captured the heart of the film. 8/10.

Rushmore is the only one I enjoyed really... His films are just too affected and insufferably quirky for my taste

    Under The Skin

5/10, this flick almost played out like a silent movie, not much dialogue in it. Sure, Scarlett Johansson appeared totally nude in 2 scenes in this movie, but it's not the kind of nudity that will get osfan aroused.

shouldnt the whole forum have the same premise as this thread? :scratcher: so you start a thread for each movie, but when you rate a movie you do it with a bit more detail

Well the premise of the forum is to discuss movies, but the way the system is i guess, is that someone starts a thread about a movie and people talk about it before and after they watch it. To be honest, this thread is kind of pointless.

There used to be a single movie thread which you can find in this forum called "Sticky: The old Movie thread". Anyway, everyone started saying we need a movie forum. I was totally against it but Godfather created it anyway and I have to admit the forum is way better than just having the thread.
