I know there's boxing this weekend, but I could care less about Adonis "Scared to death of Kov" Stevenson beating up some Polish scrub. Froch-Groves 2 is the next fight to look forward to. Who wins? The arrogant farmer or the balding ginger? I'm heavily rooting for Groves, but I think Froch will reach down and pull out enough to get Groves out in legit fashion this time. Hope I'm wrong.
I'm hoping Froch flattens Chunkys leftovers like a big ginger pancake but I have a feeling Groves will just be too fast for him. I don't think he'll engage Carl as much this time round and will try to play it safe, in and out. Will be interesting to see if he has the stamina to pull it off, but my pick is Groves UD. Worth remembering that Groves is riding a wave of public sentiment after the first fight so that could sway the judges in his favour if it's close.
I think Froch via UD. It will be competitive but he'll be sharper and motivated to prove the doubters wrong. I'm hoping Stevenson gets KO'd honestly.
I like on that last Showtime card how they rated Adonis #1 and Hopkins #2 at light heavy. I'll take Groves SD, but I like Froch so don't care if he wins. A great fight with a fair result would be my favorite result.
Pick-em, really... I think Groves can get it done and win a decision Though he certainly won't win by unanimous scores of 120-98 the way he did against that Chunky fellow, he will, IMO emerge victorious by close decision
Guaranteed good fight i think. Great styles mesh, Froch will be more motivated, Groves more confident. FIGHT.
I was expecting Froch to walk through him last time, Groves surprised me. Still, I don't think he can improve on his last performance, and he was on the way to getting koed before the early stoppage imo. Give me Froch by late KO.
Same here, I thought Frock was in another league and would batter Ginger Groves all over the place. This one is tough to call, Groves did way better than expected. Still, I thought Frock was on his way to stopping him legit, so I'll take Frock by TKO in 9 or 10 rounds.
Groves is a ginger bellend and his whining has been getting on my tits for weeks now. That premature stoppage was the best thing that could have happened to him - he was on his way to getting KTFO and yet he's somehow convinced loads of people that he was victim of the greatest robbery in the history of the universe. I hope he gets splattered all over the ring. But I was worried before the first fight that he might just have the speed and angles to cause this old version of Froch trouble and so it proved. I do think Froch looked like he hadn't taken Groves massively seriously first time around but he really is a fight or two from retirement and the six months since the last fight are unlikely to have helped him in any tangible way, whilst Groves will have gained confidence from the first half of the first fight and, in a disgusting show of misplaced loyalty, he will have the support of most there on the night. I think Froch gets to him late again but I wouldn't bet too much on the outcome. MTF
Froch is definitely taking Groves far more seriously for the rematch and he's not falling for Groves' antics this time round either. Groves continues to go on and on and on and on about the first fight and to me, it's becoming very annoying now. Still, Groves had clear advantages in hand speed and reflexes when they first fought and I think if he uses his speed wisely, he can win. My pick would be Groves by split decision.
If Froch wins, I hope HBO pushes for him to move up and fight Kov. That way we can see the farmer get retired in style.
Frock would have a better chance getting run over by his combine harvester than tangling with the mighty russkie Kov
I know it won't happen. Froch is crazy as cat shit, but he's not stupid. Kov isn't even a big money fight for him, and he'd get battered. I could see him taking a GGG fight if offered. More money, and he'd likely be more confident in winning.
So it seems the Ginger doesn't approve of one of the judges being Polish, because of Frochy being a poleark.
I'd pick GGG, but I'll say this much, Froch is a much higher test than the likes of Macklin, Stevenson, and what Geale will be. I could see Froch giving GGG a very tough test, but the smart money says GGG wears him down and breaks him. Whereas in the case of Froch-Kov, I see Kov destroying Froch in about 4-5 rounds.
Froch said he would swerve Golovkin because "he hits too hard" look up part two of his facebook Q and A with groves on youtube
