Jones wins, because he was better. That's the simple answer.

If you want an analysis, in short, everything that Ward does well would be pretty ineffective considering the other worldly speed at which Roy reacted, and capitalized. Then you have the fact that Jones would be able to SERIOUSLY hurt Ward, and you have the recipe for Ward for falling short.

I think you're only shot at beating a prime Jones is having the power to take him out. And we know that Ward doesn't have that power.

The more I think about it, the more I think that Ward has a real good chance with his speed and excellent inside game, especially since the 168 rj was way more wild than the 175 version. Still, I expect ward to get caught by a huge left hook eventually.

    Ward's speed???

He'd be the facing the fast handed fighter to ever lace em up. THAT would be his problem. Ward's used to always being quicker than his opponents. Against Jones, that goes out the fucking window!

Honestly, if Ward really pressed Jones, he gets stopped. The gap in speed, and power is just too overwhelming for Ward to trade with Roy, and Ward doesn't have the greatest chin.

If he goes into a shell (which is more likely), then Roy wins by UD.

yes Jones was faster, but I think that he has problems with fast fighters. They made him more reluctant.

If Ward had legit power, he'd be one of the greatest fighters ever. But he doesn't. Ultimately, he doesn't have enough pop to make Jones reluctant. He'd get outclassed.

Ward loses to a prime Hopkins as well, for the record.
