If we do the math, everything points to a Martinez win. Let's look at Cotto's fights against southpaw's

Cotto vs Corley- Cotto almost ko'd.
    Cotto vs Pac- Cotto Stopped
Cotto vs Judah- Although Miguel won Judah gave him fits.
    Cotto vs Trout- Cotto lost.

Now he's fighting the biggest and possibly the strongest southpaw he's ever faced @160.

Cotto had a good round or 2 at the start of the fight, then basically got walked down and beaten up. You couldn't even say he was competitive against Pacquiao.

Yeah, both Cotto and Richard gave Pacquiao and Roy's fists a good old workout with their faces.

The winners were only ahead by like 9 points

9 is only 8 more than 1 and 1 is a close fight

Tony Sibson gave Marvin Hagler a good fight

Also, Danny Lopez gave Sal Sanchez a good fight

And Barkley gave Toney a good fight

difference was everytime cotto had a good moment Pac dropped him. Hard fight for cotto when he attacked he got dropped when he stayed away he was getting outboxed, entertaining fight but not a good one for miguelito

guess I should throw out my prediction too so Cotto 7-5 SD , Martinez in my opinion has a young man’s style in an old man’s body and for that reason I go with the more technically sound Cotto

plus I am a Cotto nutthugger since 2000

Plus at that time Pac was still fresh on those roids...he was extra special!!!...Karma is a puta bitch....Marquez got on that juicey power cruncher and slept Pacquiao....it was sooo obvious Marquez was on Roids..but since Pacquiao has been terrified of needles..he couldn't request Marquez take testies...if he isn't willing to do the same...so he had to face his nemesis one last time....one last time into that dark nite..

It was unchartered territory at the time for Manny (in terms of Cotto being the largest and best big guy he'd fought at that point), plus it really did seem like Mayweather-Pacquiao was right around the corner if he got through it so I was at the edge of my seat the whole fight. It did end up being rather one-sided though.

    Martinez TKO 8

His punches will have more of an effect I think. Martinez will probably look and finish the fight spectacularly.
