I don't visit other forums very often, mostly because I am afraid of what I might see posted.

For example, I happened to stop by one a little earlier tonight and I came across this gem of a Top Ten All Time Heavies List.

    1> Mike Tyson
    2> Lennox Lewis
    3> Larry Holmes
    4> Evander Holyfield
    5> Teophilio Stevenson
6> David Tua (yea he's under rated)
    7> Frank Bruno
    8>George Foreman
    9> Joe Frazier
    10>Muhammed Ali

I'm not making this up, it really is someone's actual Top Ten list. Others were arguing with the person who posted this, but I was thinking "what's the point??"

Adding that scrub might even make the list more funny...but then you'd also have to find room for Toney and Jones above him.

To mention nothing of the less than kind words the Cuban Hawk had to say about Stevenson.

He really fucking hated the lot of them.

Well, at least they got #1 right. :rock1::hammert::laughing:

In all seriousness, you ain't seen NOTHIN! Go browse the General Forum at ESB. You'll hear some of the dumbest statements ever heard uttered about boxing.

I've heard posters on ESB say that Khan would have beaten prime Chavez. Haye would have knocked out a prime Tyson. Calz would have beaten Michael Spinks. And just yesterday, I read someone say that Froch would have beaten a prime Jones.

This list cannot be taken seriously if it omitted Chris Arreola & John Ruiz! :nono:

I went to boxingscene's forum to see the level of activity. It is a very active forum, and as you see in every active forum, there's a few numbnuts but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of some posts. And say what you want about the least knowledgeable posters, while they lower the quality of boxing discussion, they usually raise the entertainment level of forums. Fightbeat was way better when we had plenty of controversial posters.

The list broadwayjoe posted is the kind of post that would have raised a riot here a few years ago.

That wasn't the topic the list came from. It was all time top ten list. Which is why it's so ridiculous.

Ali was awesome in the 80s :mut:

Also so how would that possibly explain the inclusion of Stevenson who never had a pro fight?

If it was greatest fighters that had fights in the 80's but you take their whole career into account.
