I feel very confident in saying the O'Grady of the Kenty fight was better than ANY version of Gatti. O'Grady beats the Hell outta Gatti, especially at 135.

The Bubblegum Kid actually faces a chap as cut prone as he is

gatti has an outside punchers chance, but other than that, I expect O'Grady to beat his ass and hurt him bad with body shots

Sean O'Grady Actually Had Pretty DECENT, Fairly Well Rounded, Offensive Boxing Skills...But his Skin & Leaky Defense WOULDN'T Allow Him to Accomplish More than he Did...

O'Grady Just May have Had THE Most Tender Skin in Boxing History...Some of his Fights Look like Ol' School RASSLIN' Matches Featuring the Likes of Abdullah the Butcher...Fucking BLOODBATHS, to the Point You'd Wonder HOW his Ol' Man Could Stand WATCHING His CHILD Bleed Half to Death, w/Out Stopping the Fight Himself...

Given THE WAY he Bled, there's Little Chance of Sean O'Grady Having Tons of Success Today...T.V. Networks, Refs, Judges & Fans Simply COULDN'T Stomach the Site All of the Blood & he'd Suffer a Ton of Cut Related TKO Losses...

O'Grady was BETTER than Gatti Though...Not By a Substantial Margin, but he WAS...He'd BEAT Gatti 7 Out of 10 Times, w/the Losses Being a Byproduct of Cuts...

LOL, yeah... his bleeding was almost comic book shit... That fight with Shig Fukuyama would have been stopped just about anywhere on Earth, even in those days... O'Grady was winning the fight but you couldn't even make out his face... it was all blood. His dad (who did more to derail his career than possibly any manager in history) was the promoter so that fight was never getting stopped as long as O'Grady was winning.

Still, O'Grady was good for a while... He was beating Jim Watt and definitely on his way to the title when that cunt purposely headbutted him to open up cuts which led to a "stoppage victory" for him... Eventually, he got another shot, against Hilmer Kenty and beat the hell out of him, torturing him to the body.

His father then completely fucked his career by refusing to let him defend his belt and tried starting his own santioning body (the WAA) with Sean installed as Lightweight champ... With his career stagnating when he should have been at the height of his stardom (O'Grady was sort of a teen idol with girls at the time) his moron father, with little preparation, decided to have him defend his now meaningless "title" against an extremely dangerous early rounds southpaw bomber who could knock people out with either hand... Naturally, O'Grady wound up getting knocked stupid and that was the end for him

Had he been managed by a non-relative, non-lunatic, he would have at least had a better run than he did

Let's not pretend that Gatti had skin of steel. Angel Manfredy sliced him open at 135, and O'Grady was better than Manfredy in every way possible.

Both were bleeders. O'Grady's skin was a bit worse, but it's off set the fact that O'Grady was simply a better fighter. He beat the shit outta Kenty, who was a very good fighter. Flu or no flu, that was a better win than any in Gatti's career.

Gatti gets his ass kicked by Kenty, let alone O'Grady.

But I assure you, Manfredy and Ivan Robinson wouldn't have beaten O'Grady.

    Agreed

I don't see anything other than a vague puncher's chance for Gatti, but REED is correct that O'Grady had like horror movie bleeding capabilities

Maybe I'm too sticked on Gannigan splattering O'grady all over the canvas, but i'm surprised that most seem to think he would lose. Sure O'grady had more boxing skills, but Gatti was faster and had more power. Also, Gatti has beaten better guys than some of you gives him credit for (Leija, Dorin, Patterson and Ruelas were all decent fighter), and it's not like O'grady has a better resume than this, in fact, his resume his definitively not as good.

Anyway, I wont argue too much on this, since I was pretty much a Gatti detractor for all my life, and defending him is unpleasant for me .

The best thing about the WAA is that the Heavyweight Champ Monte Masters was married to Sean's sister and was stripped of his "title" after he divorced her.

    Makes Sense...

Ali was Stripped for REFUSING Induction into the Military, Masters was Stripped for Refusing to Stay Married to O'Grady's Sister...

REED Can Envision Pat O'Grady Showing Up to the Gym w/Various WAA Title Belts, Passing them Out like Christmas Presents..."Here you Go, this is the Lightheavyweight Title...You Over There, You're Gonna Be my Middleweight Champion, etc, etc."

No Doubt, Masters Left Signed Divorce Papers AND his Heavyweight Title Belt on his Ex's Doorstep...

Plus there were a lot of jokes at the time about "WAA" being perfect for Pat because he was crying and trying to take his ball home...as they say.
