Fun night. Single shot bombs are very rare in woman's MMA, but Ronda's right hand certainly did the job tonight.

Weidman's got a great chin and Machida's got a big heart. That was a brutal fight for both guys but I was impressed with Machida ditching his safety first style in the 4th and 5th rounds. It made it a great fight.

I thought that trip hurt davis more then the first punch.

Weidman was more hurt then tired in that fight. He was never wobbled.

Watch the replay. That right hand essentially ended the fight. Davis was out and falling when Ronda drove the knee into her stomach and then judo slammed her.

I saw him get stunned once, but never wobbled, which tells me he wasnt really that hurt. He seemed to be breathing hard by the 4th.

I didnt think it was that brutal for Weidman. He basically just lost one round but was never really hurt IMO. Machida got taken down 5 times, which was insane IMO.

I think Traz meant more tired than hurt. Weidman's got a Bam Bam Rubble freakin chin. Machida cracked him clean with the type of shots that ended guys like Evans and Bader.

I thought it was the punch that ended the Rousey fight. Very sweet how she then went to her favorite well and judo slammed her. Also very sweet how her boobs made the replays extra watchable.

I slightly leaned Machida going into the fight. Weidman is hard to get overly supportive of because he isn't flashy. But he is obviously damn good.
I'm guessing the one judge gave Machida the 5th?

You'll be hard-pressed to find a more brutal and explosive 5-6 second sequence in men or women's MMA than the finish of the Rousey-Davis fight. She went right hand, knee to the body, judo slam and 10 punches to the face without even blinking.

In the pre-fight, Meisha Tate talked about Rousey's ability to immediately go from zero to hundred as being the biggest factor that her opponents aren't ready for. Rousey demonstrated it perfectly last night.

Rousey is amazing. I look at her as on the same level as the other dominant fighters in the sport and she's the only female fighter in both boxing and MMA that I ever actually look forward to seeing fight, even though it must be said that the women fights in MMA tend to be fairly entertaining affairs regardless, IMO.

Good thing Weidman has a granite chin because Machida landed some really flush shots on him. I thought both guys got tired in the 4th, but the difference was Machida seemed to maintain the power in his strikes while Weidman's shots looked all gentle and shit.

machida didnt really expose many vulnerabilities imo. he has such a unique style he could do that a lot of other top fighters. having said that, it would be interesting to see how he reacts to belfort's explosive shots, but i'd still pick weidman to win. i dont see anyone else in the division giving weidman fits.
