Beneath all the hoopla of movie marketing Hollywood unleashed on us this summer from which it seemed there was no Escape, only a handful of films have Conquest box office gold and the imagination of audiences during the fierce Battle for movie tickets selling supremacy. Films like Transformers Age of Extinction are making tons of money, but have been disliked by both critics and audiences. In the face of this, a movie that receives both critics and audiences approval can Rise. And that film is this weekend's champ: Dawn of The Planet of the Apes the story the intelligent ape Caesar and the not-so-intelligent human fightbeat moderator Anthony. The sequel made a solid $73 million which is a huge improvement over the opening of its predecessor. In a distant second place with a 58% drop, Transformers Age of Extinction added $16.5 million to its ark of now $209 million. While reaching a final worldwide tally of $1 billion is almost a sure thing, domestically this will be the lowest grossing film the franchise. But as long as dumb moviegoers like Anton Knee support these films, the franchise will continue being profitable. In the third spot the comedy Tammy took home $12.9 million for a two week total of $57 million. The film starring Anthony in drag passing as a fat female could end its run with around $80 million. 22 Jumpstreet added $6.7 million for a current total of $171 million. The film has been so successful that Anthony is already camping outside a movie theater waiting for the next sequel. How to Train your Dragon 2 continues underperforming in comparison to its predecessor. The animated film took the fifth spot with $5.8 million for a five weeks total of $152 million, a longshot from the first film's $217 million total. As for the rest of the top ten list you can ask Anthony to copy & paste the rest of it, like he does with his movie reviews.
What a garbage summer for movies. Other than X Men,Edge of Tomorrow and Guardians, this summer has been crap.
Went to see this today. Was fucking brainless garbage. At one point a monkey riding a horse charged an armoured line firing a machine gun in each hand. Preposterous nonsense. The teenagers at the front applauded at the end, though. MTF :shit #2::shit #2:
