Part of Being a Capable Journalist is Effectively Manipulating WORDS...

There's Literally HUNDREDS of Other Things the Interviewer Could've Said, but he Made a Choice to Go as LOW as Possible...

As for Holding Tyson "Accountable", that's What his Sentencing and Jail Stint was About. Mike's DONE his Time and Doesn't Need some Unprofessional, Piece of Shit Interviewer Trying to make a Name at HIS Expense...

    Fuck That...

That's something to always hold against the black man. He thinks other black men are his brother and should be treating him better. Real LCD bullshit. Imagine every fucking Paddy thought he had a favour coming to him from another Paddy. Nonsense. Each man for himself.

"THe Rights of Man"- Thomas Paine, 1791 AD. {Not the "Rights of Black Man, White Man, Or any other sort of Man"

People don't like other people. That's simply the way it is.

Your belief that races are different belies the mistake you are making.

    They ACT different.

It is my realization that we are all the fucking same that helps me see past the shit.

Of course, working in a workplace that is at least 33% black helps me see this.

The hand-shakes, the gilded-lilly mutual respect, the fist-bumping, the cold shouldering of whitey {whilst smiling politely} ....then a managers position gets advertised and the knives come out....and they can't put the boot in fast enough. Then when one of them gets the job they all knifed each other to have, it's "Oh, I'm so proud to see one of our own succeed"

    Like fuck you are.

You'll have to give me more credit than that Reed. I'm surrounded by these fuckers and they play the brother bullshit, but they all chasing the same fucking cheque.

Yeah.......like they were making woman noises.....but he did it with brotherly love.

Of course Don King also showed him much brotherly love.

    It's a bullshit construct.

I could be wrong, being I'm not black 'n all, but I tend to agree. Mike was probably just pissed off that some prick was nausing him, I doubt it annoyed him any more that the guy is black.

it's just another case of Tyson trying to sell tickets via controversy...that's the only way anyone can give a shit about whatever he does - people will only see this thing in the hope that he goes psycho on some audience member or something

no one knew he was doing any sort of show before this interview, so it worked

The exact question the interviewer asked: "Now some of your critics would say you know there's a race for mayor, we know you're a convicted rapist, this can hurt his campaign..and how would you respond to that?"

I don't think Tyson appreciated being called a convicted rapist.

I SEE where Reed is coming from...when the Irish meet other Irish in the melting pot of London, we immediately bond...then start sussing each other out. The brotherly bullshit lasts precisely long enough to realize that the Irish guy is Irish...and then look him in the eye.

If Reed wants to be close to Blacks as they drive thru "Enemy Territory" then that's fine. But.....it's still superficial.

    People don't like other people.

I think what annoys Tyson most of all is that this interviewer is a weedy wimpy little f*ck who Tyson desperately wants to f*ck in the ass and mouth, but can't. So he has to sit there taking this homo's sh*t. Tyson wishes he could have this guy in an alleyway in Brooklyn I bet.

    1) dont sex offenders have that shit follow them around for the rest of their lives? posters around the street when they move houses etc? i the time in prison is never enough for regular people so why are celebrities exempt?

    2) Tyson is the one trying to make a name for himself in this interview...desperately trying to keep his name relevant to sell tickets to his failed show

He didnt bring up Tyson's past. He brought up currently being a convicted rapist, hurting the chances of a drug using mayor.

He didnt ask if he did it or not. He asked if his name is so tarnished that he would hurt anyone's reputation being seen with him. He asked about his current status as a person in society.

The reporter could have said because of his "criminal past", certainly. On that I agree---he was being confrontational and chose his wording to be shocking.

I also agree that Tyson's done his time legally, but a rape victim has to live with what happened for the rest of their life---especially when the convicted rapist is a celebrity with fans who blame the victim. Tyson got asked a provocative question, but the way he chose to react to it was rather telling. He didn't deny it and instead went on the attack verbally and asked the guy what he was going to do about it.

If Tyson was some no-name, he wouldn't have a bunch of people defending him. People look at his in-the-ring exploits and want to attribute positive qualities to Tyson. He had a difficult upbringing. I understand that, but the number of times I've seen him freak out on people, you'd think he would have learned some lesson in life. He's even admitted to doing things that could have gotten him sent to jail but those things didn't. I don't have the sympathy for him that many others clearly do, and I was as big a Tyson fan growing up as anybody.

Let's not go off on a tangent and stick to the topic. That interviewer called him a "convicted rapist" and that's what angered Tyson. He could've EASILY chosen his words carefully as you admitted but he didn't.
Interviewer could've said "troubled civilian" or "had a controversial past" or a hundred other things but instead he called him a "convicted rapist" right to his face.

Fuck man, we all know Tyson is nuts. Yeah, he haven't been the best role model, but which boxer really is? I don't know you all, but I like seeing Tyson and any other ex boxers doing well. We have enough cases of incapacitated boxers, sick, broke and just plain dead. We all thought Mike was going to end up homeless, but I'm glad he's trying to actually move on from his past. Isn't that what most of us strive for? Looking ahead and letting go of the mistakes we made back when we were young? That reporter brought up tyson's past in a rude manner. Mike has to deal with all the embarrassing things he did every single day. Sometimes we just lack empathy, and that makes us even worse than a convicted rapist.
