VERY Competitive, SKILLFUL, High Contact Bout...

Would Resemble Kostya Tszyu vs. Cool Vince, in A Lot of Ways...Phillips was IN that Fight All the While, but Probably NEEDED a KO to Win, @ the Same Time...It's NOT like he Wiped his Ass w/Tszyu, or Anything Close to It...Such Would Be the Case w/GGG vs. Young Bernard...

Tszyu Actually Fought Rather ADMIRABLY that Night, but his Ensuing Behavior Illustrates Vince TOOK a Piece of Kostya's Heart w/Him, When it was All Said & Done...Until we've SEEN How GGG Responds to Adversity, there's a GOOD Chance BHop Triggers a SIMILAR Reaction...

GGG Wins Rounds, Probably the MAJORITY of the Rounds, but Hopkins Takes him to a Place he's NEVER Been, in the Ring & Golovkin Comes Unglued...

What on earth has GGG done to indicate he would win a majority of rounds off of even a young Hopkins?

On the other hand, why assume he would puss out the way Tszyu did?

Is it because both guys are from the same region (although it's a big fucking area with diverse cultures so lumping them together is about as dumb as lumping Mexicans together with cubans, Puerto Rica s , etc. ..."they're all Hispanic" says the census department..)? And even then, it's generalized based on race which of course is stupid.

Again, Tszyu Only "Pussed Out" in Regards to Stepping BACK in the Ring w/Phillips Ever Again, as the Opportunity REPEATEDLY Presented Itself...

More to your Point, REED was Speaking STYLISTICALLY, Instead of Racially or Regionally, in Regards to GGG/Tszyu AND Bernard/Cool Vince...

    But Thanks for "Asking"...

Fair enough. I was only messing. But I agree with you that ggg ' s style is reminiscent of tszyu's. Somehow though I think ggg is more dynamic...With a more varied arsenal..but of course he is largely unproven at this point.

Regarding tszyu, now that all is said and done when it comes to his career, the most notable thing about it may be that he never even talked about avenging either of his defeats, let alone got in the ring to do so. That has to hurt his legacy I would think in the eyes of many.

Gaybox is far more dynamic and less robotic than Tszyu, I don't see much similarity, other than ethnicity.

As for this fight, bit too early for me to say, even as a big Gaybox fan. I do think Gaybox would at least give Nard a run for his money.

Even the Hopkins that lost to Jermain Taylor would outclass and box circles around GGG.

Nothing suggests this either, since Golovkin has hardly ever lost even a round. No proof of GGG victory either, but he is way more cute

That's Because You Simply DON'T WANT to See a Similarity, Brother Mex...

Yes, GGG Is "More Dynamic & Less Robotic" than Tszyu, but Let's NOT Pretend Golovkin's the Picture of FLUIDITY Either...GGG Feints Shots & Doubles/Triples w/the Same Hand A LOT More than Kostya Ever Did, but There's RIGIDITY in Both Men, Stylistically, Not to Mention a Classic, European, Upright Stance @ Times...

@ the CORE, they're Both AGGRESSIVE Boxer-Punchers w/Even Handed Power...Capable of Countering, Yet PREFERRING to Initiate...NEITHER has Shown Proficiency Fighting Backwards or On the MOVE for Loooooooong Stretches...

Ethnicity Aside, Golovkin & Tszyu are More ALIKE, than Dissimilar, Stylistically...

The RJ Fight was Hopkins' Litmus Test to HIMSELF, in REED's Opinion...Bernard FINISHED that Fight Stronger than he Started, Which Tells REED there May have Been Some UNCERTAINTY, Early Doors...

GGG Would Be More Aggressive, More COMBATIVE than RJ was, @ Any Point of Jones-Hopkins I, & Young Bernard, Still Wondering if he "Belongs", Could Conceivably LOSE ROUNDS, Adjusting...

But BHop WOULD Respond, Eventually....REED is Merely Suggesting the POSSIBILITY of a TENURED, World Class Ammy like GGG, Giving a YOUNG BHop Some INITIAL Difficulty....

I don't see any 'rigidity' in GGG. I think this is a fight.

I'd pick Hopkins because he's more proven, even at that stage of his career he'd shown a fair bit. GGG might go on to be pretty damn good but he's still a long way from doing enough for me to pick him here.

As Ugo alluded to - based on what exactly? Gaybox hasn't even come close to being defeated, and Hopkins has never dominated a middleweight as good as Gaybox.

You can't think someone would have circles boxed around them, when no one else has even come close. There's simply no evidence to suggest it's easy to outbox Gaybox.

REED, to be honest amigo, I would describe Gaybox as VERY fluid. Very relaxed and very fluid. Ethnicity aside, the only surface level similarity I see between them is they are both fairly patient stalkers.

But for some reason Gaybox reminds me of Marquez, like a more aggressive Marquez. An aggressive yet patient counterpuncher, with power in either hand, and VERY accurate.

I guess Gaybox's stance alone is a bit Eastern Euro, but his overall style is very loose and fluid, and way different to the classic, rigid Eastern Euro style.

Another thing...Hopkins didn't exactly like being hit in the face often. His skill is undeniable....but there were times before when he was cracked hard, hurt, and dropped and relied on his BS to get through it, like the Mercado fight where he started petitioning the ref on spurious grounds, and like the Calzaghe fight where he was tired and pretended he got hit low.

I still say Hopkins wins tho'

Hopkins also turned bitch to some extent in the Echols rematch, and played bitch in the rjj rematch. Plus, he quit against Dawson.

You mean the one where he elected to fight on with a dislocated shoulder and beat the hell out of Echols one-handed?
