Decent card with a couple of statement wins. After all the trash talk, Rockhold dropped Bisping with a head kick and then forced him to tap with a guillotine. Al Iaquinta also notched an impressive win by knocking out Ross Pearson.

Rockhold also wins the award for corniest walk out song in UFC history with "Battle of New Orleans". I appreciate the anti-Brit sentiment given Bisping as an opponent, but it was just goofy.

Rockhold's win sets up a string of good potential MW matchups. I'd love to see Joel Romero vs Jacare for the next shot at the belt. Meanwhile, a Rockhold-Machida fight would be an interesting pairing. And naturally, Anderson Silva's return against anyone will generate interest.

    Seriously? That's hilarious.

Did he at least use the Johnny Cash version?

Or did he go full hillbilly with the Johnny Horton version?

I know the UFC is pretty good about losing guys getting title shots, but imo Souza and Romero don't need another big win to earn a title shot, I'd like to see either fight Weidman now.

I agree with Jacare. He is the absolute scariest MW in the world right now.

Romero, on the other hand, should not be rewarded for "Stool Gate" by getting a title shot.

The UFC should order a Romero-Kennedy rematch.

romero doesnt have the stamina to last w/ weidman. weidman is a superior striker than jacre and is good enough on the ground not to get his guard passed easily. rockhold poses a greater threat vs. weidman based on his fluid striking. plus, he also soundly defeated jacre back in SF.

It's hard to believe Jacare was soundly defeated by Rockhold only 3 years ago.

I haven't see the fight, but to me Jacare looks significantly better than Rockhold.

He is. Some fighters do get better as time passes. Jacare is definitely one of them.

I didn't think it was a sound defeat. It was a close fight that could have gone either way. I'd expect today's Jacare to soundly defeat Rockhold in a rematch.
