    Let me put the whole list for everyone's benefit and keep in mind that I am never wrong!

    1 = Extremely bad; the kind of film its makers should consider suicide
    2 = Awful. Bad, but with few redeeming qualities.
    3 = So bad is good. The kind of stinker that serves as a dish to make fun of.
    4 = Guilty pleasures. The movies everybody criticizes, but deep down are ok.
    5 = so-so mediocre. Had potential to be better, but the makers blew it.
    6 = Average. Watchable. One viewing affairs, to be forgotten as soon is over
    7 = Borderline average. Okay, but has mistakes, usually at the end, that fails.
    8 = Good. Repeat viewing qualities.
    9 = very, very good
    10 = a masterpiece

    Nope.
    4 is a generally regarded failed movie that you trash in public, but secretly you purchase the Blu-ray through Amazon.

    That's a terrible scale

    The difference between "very good" and "a masterpiece" is one fucking number, yet there are two whole digits required to bridge the gap between "so-so mediocre" and "borderline average" ??

    Using YOUR rating system, I give YOU a rating of "1" ... You know what to do, now

    6/10.

    On my scale, 6 is the highest mark a movie can get without being considered for purchase.

    It's a fine film but I wouldn't watch it again.

    yeah tilda Swinton performance excellent

    first movie I've seen captain america in outside of the marvel movies and I thought he was good.

    the scene where the train carriage door opens and all those guys are there in their eyeless balaclavas, gutting fish - fucking brilliant.

    the dystopian satire stuff got a bit too hackneyed in the second half for me. propaganda, education as social conditioning, a personality cult, a society based on gross inequality, bla bla bla - it's all been done 50 times before.

    Wouldn't it be a refreshing twist to watch a scifi film with this scenario where at the end the elite crowd, being smarter and having better resources, just beat the shit out of the hero rebels ad further impose submission to the poor majority crowd?

    I enjoyed it more upon further viewings than my initital score of 7.5/10.

    I think it's a sci-fi classic.

    at this point in history, your country is a joke, mate. simple as. your elected leader is on social media shitposting about nuclear war and fighting with sportsmen. whatever injustices there are in the overall trend of world history, over the past year the greatest travesty, the most retrograde steps, have taken place in your country.

    Oh please. That’s because you aren’t paying attention around the world. Your focus is on trumps twitter. He also never tweeted about nuclear war. And if things were as bad as you say, economically we should be in a free fall. Only in goo goo la la land does a tweet about nfl cause mass hysteria by someone in fucking Asia.

    what did i miss? the re-election of merkel in germany? the catalonians organising an illegal referendum? the war in yemen, which one of my students is writing a dissertation about? the upcoming 19th congress here in China? - which world events make US politics 2016-17 look anything other than an embarrassment?

    he tweeted about war with North Korea, which would be nuclear war. we felt the tremor where i am, here in china, when they tested that last big blast.

    well done: your government's economic policy is outperforming the great depression. other aspects of its policy are, like i said, an embarrassment to western civiilisation.

    What's embarrassing is you are more concerned with trumps tweets than those matters.

    War with n Korea doesn't mean nuclear war. That's a joke. We can destroy their nuclear capabilities with one bomb if we saw fit. Trump has actually been trying to be diplomatic putting it on the UN and china to get this loon in order. Military action from us would be the last resort. And you felt the bomb? You have a mad man testing bombs, flying missiles over countries, starving his people for years, while your beloved china sat back and enabled him and all you can do is talk about trumps tweets? Have you said one fucking negative thing about n Korea here ?

    Based on above and your lack of outrage for real shit going on, what you find embarrassing holds no merit.

    nope. also prohibited them from giving certain names to kids, and what kind of beards they can and can't have.

    in addition to the official things reported in the news, there's probably all kinds of unofficial discirimination against muslims up in xinjiang. rule of law is weak here, and chinese haven't received multicultural education, so most of them quite naturally act on ethnic/religious stereotypes in a way that'd be considered unacceptably prejudiced in western countries.
