Pacman eats him alive. Zoo doesn't like getting pressured, and pac is fast and agile and would land a lot of leather on him
Pac is the obvious pick, and that's what I was about to post. But then on reflection, Pac doesn't like guys with right hands, and especially not counterpunchers with right hands. Tszyu was good at timing quicker fighters & his right hand was like an ICBM.. he has some size on Pac, as well. If he lands that right hand, it's lights out for Pac. An interesting fight to pick.
Since when is Tszyu a 1 punch KO artist? There's no way it's lights out for Pacquiao is Tszyu lands a right hand. Apart from getting KHTFO (haahjbah ahabha habha) by his nemesis, with an excellent, freakishly flush right hand - he's shown an excellent chin at 140+. Walking right through flush shots from much larger men. If Tszyu couldn't even hurt Hatton, he's certainly not going to KO Pacquiao. Pacquiao by KO in an extremely 1 sided fight, where Tszyu doesn't really do much, and ends up getting strafed with left hand after left hand after left hand.
Hatton is a very different fighter from Pac, Hatton swarmed Tszyu and stayed in close to him the whole time to keep Tszyu from finding his range. Pac isn't that type of fighter. Tszyu certainly has enough pop to put Pac down for the count, he hits harder than Juiced Marquez (imo) Having said that, I could see it going the way you describe as well. I just think this is a more interesting fight than it looks at first blush.
Loaded broke down why I opened this thread. Pac would be the clear favorite, and for good reason, but given Pac's flaws and Tszyu's strengths, to say it's a mismatch is absurd. The version of Tszyu that beat MAG that more than enough quickness, and timing on his right hand to catch Pac, and possibly put him in trouble. But for the record, I'd take the Hatton fight version of Pac by late TKO. Manny was an amazing fighter at that point. But, Tszyu would have a chance.
I refuse to believe that doggman really thinks a greasy rat tailed scrub like Tszyu would beat Pacquiao. It's just that he has a sort of reverse hard on for 140+ Pacquiao, so he feels it's his duty to pick Tszyu. Tszyu's best win is Judah, and he couldn't even beat Hatton. He has no realistic chance at all to beat Pacquiao.
I don't think Tszyu was at his peak when he fought Hatton who got away with holding and fouling him all night... His timing was just off... I think Tszyu a bit younger actually gets some of those big rights home that he was so close to landing in that fight He has a totally realistic chance... He's a strong, technically skilled guy with good hand speed and sense of distance and his best weapon is the one Pacquaio has the most trouble with... Tszyu was very good at negating speed I'm not saying it's easy, but I think he can beat Pacquiao
Watch the Tszyu who fought MAG, the Tszyu who fought Hatton. If you can't tell the PHYSICAL difference between the two, then I dunno what to tell you. It's like watching the RJ who fought Hall, then the RJ who lost to Tarver, and saying there's no physical difference between the two versions.
And, it is I who supposedly "talks shit". Hatton in 2005 was very very very hard to hurt. People have forgotten.
Eamonn Magee managed it, as did Martin Rowlands. It's worth remembering that Hatton had fought absolute spunk up until Tszyu. He was hurt bad by Collazo just two fights later. Pac would have destroyed Tszyu.
And here you are, still talking shit :: Hatton was hurt at domestic level, before fighting Tszyu, and afterwards by numerous fighters (even Lazcano managed it). So no, he was not very, very, very hard to hurt at all. Hatton seemed to have a decent chin, but in retrospect it was probably just average and nothing more. As Slicey said, he fought shit opposition before Tszyu, if he had fought world class guys he would have been dropped and hurt more often.
You best believe he would. 2 completely different levels of fighter. Tszyu was a greasy scrub who couldn't even beat Cool Vince or Hatton. Like he's really going to beat Pacquiao :: Pac would have sodomised him.
I'm absolutely shcoked that some think that tszyu would trouble Pac, or even beat him. Tszyu struggled with the pressure of Leija. The only way he win this imo is by a hail mary right hand
Agreed, it's mental. He should be about a 50 to 1 underdog. Tszyu has always been overrated, but since Pacquiao-mania has subsided, Manny has become underrated. He'd squash Tszyu like a bug.
I think he fought Leija four years later and won easily (not that Leija and Pacquaio even fought alike anyway)
Tszyu was no different by the time he retired, it's revisionist bullshit. People were creaming themselves over him destroying Mitchell in his previous fight, but somehow he was shot by the time he fought Hatton, in his next fight ::
Tszyu was a very good fighter, I've nothing against the guy but Pacquiao is an all-time great. The chasm between the two is pretty immense.
Who was? I wasn't... I was never a Tszyu guy, always thought he was overrated but he'd be the best fighter Pacquaio has faced above 130 and he had the perfect weapons to trouble him... Tszyu was younger and faster in 1999 than he was in 2005 when he was fouled and humped into retirement by a pasty Man City hooligan... That's just the facts, man
