A very strange, yet compelling, film aboot an alien (Scarlett Johannsen) who goes aroond Scotland abducting lonely/ single men fer later consumption. Ah knew Ah'd love this film when a Celtic football fan wiz trapped wi'in fifteen minutes o' the film (no word o' a lie). Johannsen acts like some sortae oot o' this world 'siren' in order tae entice her victims and the way she traps and stores them is highly original, weird and disturbing. She eventually begins tae question whit she's doing tae all these poor laddies and leaves her alien partner in kidnapping and slaughter tae try and live in a human world, wi' her abandoned partner trying tae track her doon. The story starts tae snowball from there... Some haunting scenes and the oddest o' soondtracks- HOOEVER- this may be way too low key, depressing and flat oot strange fer many. 7 sporrans oot o' 10 Oh! And she's fully nude a few times... SEE YOU!
incredibly boring film with the most annoying music ever. It has a horrendous pace. Only the nudity saved the whole thing, but that wasn't enough. 3/10
I didn't like it at all and didn't finish watching. If you like Stanley Kubrick's films but think they still aren't weird enough you'll love this one.
I like Stanley Kubrick films and this one doesn't come close. I too didn't finish watching it. Why torture myself?
Ye both clearly hate Scotland! :up: Naw, tae be fair, mibbees it's because Ah'm more used tae weird/ low budget films being on the European side, like. The dialogue wiz not great - did Ye like the accents though, laddies? A lot o' the actors were clearly amateurs and the patter improvised, which leads often tae realism but alsae dullness. Yeez didnae even see the end? Ah give up! (j/k)
I didn't like it either but I did finish it, although it took a bit of jumping forward. If you can sit all the way through this one without either falling asleep, fast forwarding it, or flat out abort viewing, you deserve an award for being such an artistic fellow. Those of you who didn't finish it should of at least checked out the ending. They showed what she looked like.
