Benn was very overrated. Even then, he's still several level better than Lemieux. Would be a mismatch
You mean he kicks Benn all over the ring, knocks him out of it, but after several utterly unbelievable helpful gestures from a corrupt referee is rabbit punched and defeated via flying headbutt?
Benn would have no incompetent French ref working in HIS favor against a fellow in Lemeiux. Luckily, all you need in this fight is a ref to count to 10 once David is out cold.
Its a total mismatch. Lemieux is not even close to being the best fight-man of his own very weak era. I have no idea why this was even the slightest curiosity to the OP. Benn was a better fighter in a better era and would be at no stylistic disadvantage. Its not like Derreck Gainer having some unusual chance against Ruben Olivares because of the awful clash of styles, or Chris Byrd befuddling Joe Louis. He doesn't even have that to fall back on. No, its just a shitty banger against a very good one.
He would, of course, eventually, once he had figured out how to deal with a guy that much taller, that much faster, rangier and as awkward as Gainer. Lemieux doesn't even have that to fall back on versus Benn. Its a shitty banger against a good banger.
Yeah, and obviously drunk and weight drained hey-I-won-a-few-in-a-row-so-I-don't-need-to-train Olivares could definitely lose
