Pettis wins this one, and I think he wins it better than the Melendez fight. He softens up Dos Anjos with a strike and then subs him.

Hendricks wins, but I don't think he stops Brown. He'll try to wrestle him. It would be nice for Brown to zap him coming in, but I just don't see it.

Nelson by KO is my pick and hope, but I wonder if his chin will ever recover from that Hunt KO. Overeem's striking is on another level, but he gets cocky, caught, and stopped.

Overeem's striking is extremely overrated. Also Buddy you sexist pig, what about Joanna Jedrzejczyk fucking up that little e.t looking bitch.

You don't agree that Overeem's striking is on another level than Nelson's?

A lot of people pick Esparza, and she does like to move a lot and use takedown attempts to set up offense, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say the Polish kickboxer outworks her standing and is able to keep it standing for most of the fight. I'll pick Jedrzejczyk by split decision. I don't have a lot of confidence in my pick, and I believe you REALLY have to outwork the champ to get a decision. It'll be close, I think.

I liked the one fight I saw of Jedz, but Carla was too impressive on TUF. She's the pick.

Hendricks should beat Brown easily, although if he does it smart, it might be ground and pound boring.

I don't think it was overrated. His power and speed just took a nosedive when he got off the PEDs. He's not the same fighter as he was in his (enhanced) prime.

I was rooting for Melendez in the last fight, but Pettis is a monster. He's been destroying the top guys and making it look easy. He might be better than BJ in his prime. I don't see RDA beating him at this point.

I'm hoping Matt Brown can find a way to win. I don't want to see Hendricks / Lawler 3.

I'm picking Overeem with very little confidence. It would be funny if a guy who looks like Roy Nelson turns out to have better cardio.

I think Nelson will ko him. Overeem is just too fragile. I think if Nelson lands as much as a glancing right hand it will ko overeem the fuck out.

Yep and despite the huge KO loss to Hunt, Nelson can take a good shot. Oddly, the longer the fight goes, the more it favors the big, fat dude as opposed to the roided out monster.

All I want to know from you is whether Joanna can keep the fight standing and give Esparza a Muay Thai beatdown.

This is how Overeem looked at the weigh in with Lesnar:

This is from yesterday. He's lost a ton of muscle mass and gained a little fat. He's still a heavyweight, but he's not the roided out monster he used to be.

yep, it's obvious that Overeem is not as roided as he used to be, and it affects his performance

I never bothered to look up any of Esparza's fights but I sure hope so! Joanna would make for a much more exciting champion!

    Impressive performance by Hendricks.

I'd fuck the shit out of both of these girls. I'm 6'4" / 245, but I've always had a thing for skinny petite girls.

This is why I don't bet on fights. RDA is completely outclassing Pettis. I didn't expect this at all.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I can't stand Overeem, he's chinny as fuck and fights like a fucking coward. He seems to know he can't take a shot so he fights so tentatively. He'll feint in and out 10 times before he actually commits to throwing a shot, whilst also reacting to every feint made by his opponent. Congrats to him though, his petrificial style paid off for him tonight and it also really helped that he had a major height and reach advantage coupled with the fact that Nelson is a 1 trick pony. He really made that fight unwatchable though.

In fact since I hate watching sports live, I recorded it and wound up fast forwarding through every fight except Hendrick's and Dos Anjos'.

Respect for RDA, who would have thought he was future champion material when he was getting wrecked by Jeremy Stephens early in his career.

He fights like that because he's been knocked out so many times. He had a killer instinct in his fights until fairly recently. He'd go all out and destroy the other guy as soon as he had him hurt just a little. That strategy stopped working once he had to get off the PEDs. He's like Wlad and Lennox, deciding to fight safely after knowing what it's like to fight too aggressively and get knocked out.

How could you hate watching fights live? It's more exciting when you know it's happening right now.

Overeem has really became a boring fighter when he got off the roids. Seems like the gear was giving him all his confidence

He still had that confidence when he quit steroids. Going all out and then getting knocked out by Bigfoot and Travis Browne took his confidence away.
