Am I the only one watching this? Looking forward to the finale tonight. It's practically a real life "True Detective", without the metaphysical meanderings.

The story of Robert Durst. Elder heir to the Durst family fortune. Family that pretty much owns/leases half the real estate in Manhattan, including the new Freedom Tower.

The story goes, he contacts the director of the movie "All Good Things" (Ryan Gosling indie vehicle), which was about the life of Durst and the many crimes/murders he may or may not have committed. He wants to give an interview. The director agrees, but it's a lengthy detailed process, and the director and his staff start to do their own digging back into his history, while these assorted interviews are happening.

Durst, who appears to be part Aspergers, part charming sociopath and part calculating killer; has a way of seeming candid and honest in his interviews while cutting an almost sympathetic figure to the audience.

Durst could have stayed out of the spotlight, and wiled away the rest of his days in freedom with his inheritance, but he appears to miss the attention, and also resents his own family for essentially exiling him, while at the same time supporting him with All-Star legal counsel, in order to keep him from besmirching the family name............although it appears he once tried to put out a hit on his younger brother, who eventually became the CEO of the corporation.

Many things are uncovered, Durst trips himself up during the interview process, raising several suspicions, and opening up the possibility to bring him back to court to answer to his crimes. Something he has shown an almost supernatural ability to wriggle out of throughout his life.

It can be rather dense and it drags at times, but it's still a fascinating watch.

It's worth it. Every time you think it's starting to drag, it punches you in the gut and wakes you up. I've walked away from the TV more then once while watching it, and realized I needed to rewind to see something I missed, or to catch the way Durst reacts to the camera while answering certain questions.

This guy is like OJ squared. He readily admits to chopping up a body and throwing it in the Gulf of Mexico, and the fucker was acquitted anyways.

According to the filmmakers, Mr Durst was still wearing a wireless microphone when he went into a hotel bathroom after the interview.
"There it is, you're caught," he whispered to himself. "What the hell did I do? Killed them all, of course."

    Goosebumps.

Finished watching last night. Fascinating story, thats still unfolding.

A few things, how incompetent was the prosecution team in the Morris Black murder case? They didnt even ask him where he put the head. Seems pretty relevant considering a bullet to head is what killed him. What if the bullet entry point was the back of the head? Really was amateur hour.

Obviously I'm no legal expert, but just from what I saw in the documentary I wouldve said not guilty as well. Bobs story was definitely possible.

    He is one creepy fucker.

I'm pretty sure he said he dumped it with the rest of the body parts in the Gulf of Mexico, they just never recovered it. Odds are he knowingly disposed of the head separately, aware that it would have been damning evidence if found.............or he got really fucking lucky and the head for some reason had a different buoyancy then the rest of the parts and washed up somewhere it was never found, or ended up on the bottom of the Gulf.

I just watched this. Trying to catch up on all the great shows over the past few years.

Great series, Robert Durst is one creepy guy. Every time he talks, he has murder in his eyes.

The guy is a monster but very interesting.
