Cruise is a solid actor. I wonder why he's never tried his hand in smaller indie-type drama films. He was good in Magnolia and Born in the 4th of July.

Magnolia was a small indy film. but that's about it. I think because he is just so busy making these big movies and making tons of money doing it. The man rarely has a bad movie. I think when he can no longer do these action movies you will see him settling more for small movies.

Yeah, seems the kind of actor that doesn't care much about accolades.

He was nominated for 4th, Jerry MaGuire and Magnolia. Pretty much the only films that were pure Dramatic. I think when he settles down he will get more accolades

It's a good thing he doesn't care about them because he doesn't deserve any

Best resume in Hollywood. 90% of his projects are great and even the bombs are decent at worst.

He's a capable actor but he's looking way too old for the action films. Plus he's a freak.

It's hard to take any movie seriously that has Tom Cruise beating people up and playing a tough guy.

It's hard to take any action movie seriously period. That is why it's called a movie.

"Movie" is short for "Moving Picture"

Yep, not to mention his consistency.

As for the MI films, with the exception of the horrendous Mission Impossible II each one has been awesome and they get better and better each time out. I didn't think part 4 could out-do part 3, but it did. Now I'd be shocked if 5 can out-do 4, but going off the trailer it looks possible. Definitely my most anticipated film of 2015 due to it's track record.

Captain Obvious is a Fightbeat poster whose only response in a thread is to point out things that are already evident or apparent.

I read that Cruise was really strapped to an aeroplane for that scene where he's holding on while it flies

He does most of this stunts, usually.
