Thumped by Miggles???? True, yes, but Angel would be paying for Danny's headstone after fighting Tito.
Benitez KO 8 Trinidad KO 6 Cotto KO 10 Camacho via wide UD DeJesus via late stoppage, one sidedly. Ortiz- Late stoppage Rosario at his best would beat him bad too. Not a knock on Garcia for losing to these guys. But WHO on this list would have problems with Lamont Peterson? :dunno:
Benitez wins a narrow decision Tito gets outboxed by Garcia who can vary his style well Cotto would get stopped on cuts Camacho gets chased to a points defeat Dejesus keeps it close but loses, as Garcia's inside game would be the deciding factor Ortiz beats Garcia soundly
He loses to all of them. He'd have his best chance against Cotto, whose chin was shaky at 140. But Cotto is so much better than him, it wouldn't matter.
The only guy he has a snowball's chance in hell against is the stiff-boxing China Doll Cotto and even that's like 8-1
Stiff? If anyone is stiff it's Tito, like a stiff fucking mummy shuffling around the ring with weights tied to his feet. Cotto is fluid and smooth. Cotto's problem has always been being a wee bit on the fragile side, especially at 140.
I think you have Tito confused with David Tua. A young Trinidad was FAR from stiff and slow. Tito had faster hands than Cotto. Cotto's a bit more fluid on his feet, but handspeed wise Trinidad was superior. But getting back to Garcia: Garcia has virtually no chance against Cotto, but at least he goes awhile against Miggy. Probably goes about 10 before Angel has seen enough and throws in the towel. Against Tito, Angel doesn't get to throw in the towel. He gets to cry over his son's unconscious body.
Gets stopped by all of them, except maybe Camacho. But if we're talking a still young Camacho, he embarrasses the retarded parki.
Benitez, Ortiz and Camacho are not stopping Garcia. And Camacho in my opinion doesn't beat him. DeJesus and Rosario would have significant size disadvantages that make the outcome not entirely a foregone conclusion. Tito and Cotto beat Garcia worse than Herrera did, both most likely by stoppage. To summarize, I pick all of them to beat Garcia except Camacho, and Tito and Cotto I'd pick to stop Garcia.
Cotto is very smooth. Smooth movement and footwork, good counterpunching, good basic boxing ability. Nothing stiff about him. Tito is stiff personified, literally like a mummy in mud, with a big left hook, that he has to be set in the mud for a few seconds to throw.
:: I was reading through the list and just kept saying "Loses,Loses Badly, Gets Beaten down, Loses, Loses...." to myself and was sure that when I scrolled down that I would encounter much different opinion. Nope. Its unanimous, he gets beaten down by them all ::
That's the nature of MM for better or worse. I don't think it's "fair" to put established fighters whose careers are complete against modern ones. While I don't disagree with anybody saying Garcia losing to that list of fighters he wouldn't exactly have been dog shit on their resumes either. Try to imagine the amount of people who would bring up a Joe Louis vs Tyson MM after he lost to Douglas. "Mike doesn't even belong in the same ring, I've been telling everyone all along. Some people thought he could beat Joe!" :atu: "Duran struggled with Buchanan, imagine what Benny Leonard would do to him!" :atu:
That's the nature of it. I remember after Roy was KO'd by Tarver in that fight, all of a sudden ANYBODY with resembling a decent puncher would knock Roy out. The boxing fans, especially the younger ones can be really extreme.
