At the domestic front Furious 7 remained at the top spot for the fourth consecutive week with $18.3 million for a domestic cume of $320 million and $1.2 billion total worldwide. Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 held its second spot with S15.5 million ($44 million in two weeks). Debuting in the third spot the counter programing chick flick Age of Adaline took $13.4 million which is a bit lower than what was expected. Home again held firmly in fourth spot with $8.3 million for a current total of $153 million. Rounding the top five domestically Unfriended had a 61% drop with $6.4 million for a $25.2 million

But the big news today has to be The Avengers: Age of Ultron debut at the international market. The Marvel studio sequel surpassed all expectations and predictions and shattered all previous records with a smashing $201.2 million or 44% better than the previous Avengers debut. The film was easily the top grosser on every single country it debuted (55% of the total international market). This now poises this sequel to possibly shatter the domestic record of the first one. The film had greater demand at IMAX screens, the preferred location for Marvel fans.

In Germany the film is being boycotted by hundreds of small independent theaters with 688 screens in protest for Disney raising the film's ticket rental fee from 47% to 53%. These theater owners claim that the greedy, unfair, abusive inflation of film's rental fee by Disney can permanently hurt their business and could force many to close down. They already voiced that other future Disney films releases, like 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens', could face a similar boycott. Regardless this situation, 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron' has been shattering records impressively so the impact of this boycott, at this point, has been minimal.
