lol. A man just can't defend a contemporary fighter around here without being accused of being gay. Very mature forum I must admit. And REED what the fuck are you laughing at??

I feel bad for Sly, but I have to pick Ellerbe.

The way he was massaging Floyd's chest in that video ILLU posted was downright creepy, they must have had bumsex.

    Sly can't compete with that.

There's defending a contemporary fighter and then there's bending over backwards and sideways to make him some sort of deity

You & Ellerbe, Toe to Toe, for the T.B.E's B.F.F. Championship of the Woooooorld Would Be a GREAT PPV Co-Main Event!!!...

Ellerbe's the More EXPERIENCED Floyd Dick Rider, but REED Thinks you'd have a Damn GOOD Chance of Pulling it Out & Sucking it Dry, Brother Sly...

Nah. I simply give Floyd his due like you (and I) used to give Jones. Floyd is UNpopular (like jones used to be) ERGO I'm demoted to being a "dickrider" or "ballsak slurper" or whateverthefuck you juvenile fightbeaters say nowadays. If I was defending SRR, Duran, Ezzard Charles...or anyone else that it's "acceptable" to defend it would be a different story. lol

w/All DUE Respect (Sincerely), you had the Fucking AUDACITY to Suggest Floyd Could Not Only Last the Distance w/a Guy like Mugabi, @ '54, Not Only BEAT a Guy like Mugabi, but KO him in 6 Fucking Rounds...Patently ABSURD, Brother Sly...

You're Going Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay More OVERBOARD in SUPPORT of Floyd, than You're Accusing REED & Others of Being, in the Opposite Direction...But Apparently, You just CAN'T See It...

Has everyone forgotten how to read all of a sudden? you are the third person to claim I said that. I said De La Hoya would have KO'd Mugabi in 6 rounds, not Floyd. REED it again. Floyd would decision Mugabi, not knock him out. NOW....I understand why y'all are being so silly. Misunderstanding. REED it again.

DLH KOing Mugabi in 6 is a retarded pick based on your inability to grasp that the guy's real career was basically over in 1987 ... He took unholy punishment from Marvin Hagler for 10 and a half rounds but he's going down to a modest punching junior middleweight in 6? Think this through ... I've explained this to you at least half a dozen times over the years... The guy that Terry Norris fought was not the same athlete that Marvin Hagler tangled with

Firstly....it's just an excuse, to justify Norris KO'ing a guy that Hagler struggled with. Mugabi was on a similar KO streak leading up to the Norris fight as he had been leading up to the Hagler fight. There was nothing in his pre-Norris KO streak that suggested that he was slipping. Plus he was still under 30 at the time to boot.

But EVEN IF I indulge your unfounded fantasy...Hagler not being able to KO him till the 11th doesn't mean De La Hoya wouldn't have been able to do it. Hagler and Oscar threw different types of punches, they had different handspeeds, different heights, different stances. Oscar hit hard at 154lbs....ask Mayorga and Vargas. Not saying he hit harder than Hagler...but Marvin was not a one punch artist himself. There is a perception about Hagler than he was this mini-Tyson type killer. The perception arises from the Hearns fight primarily. Hearns was KO'd by a combination of fatigue and breaking his hand early.....plus Hearns never had granite whiskers anyway. Yes...Hagler KO'd caveman Lee in 1 round (lol)...but that's irrelevant.

Perhaps y'all need to concede that Hagler was more of a boxer than a puncher, and wore people down with attrition more than the power of his shots.

Mugabi wasn't some steel chinned guy.

You've written this same post probably 7 times and I've ripped it to smithereens with factual information every single time and you never stop repeating the lie ... I don't see what good an 8th time destroying this ignorance will do ...

in case anyone impressionable and ignorant us reading this... Everything sly has to say on the subject of John "The Beast" Mugabi is complete and utter fiction and should be dismissed for the inane dogshit it is

We wont agree on Mugabi. you overrate him. He's an unproven banger. Nigel Benn, Eubank, McCallum....any of those guys would have killed him. That he lasted 11 rounds with Hagler speaks more of Hagler (at that time) than it speaks for Mugabi.

    You've missed the larger point.

Mugabi wasn't good enough to beat Floyd.
