That's just it. He compensates for being hated and getting no respect as a FIGHTER, as a defensive at all costs, win cowardly but win, using elbows, literally running, by counting and spending his money as a sign of his success, even though what journalists and what fans ultimately think of him eats him up inside, displayed by arguing with radio hosts, tv sports anchors and the like, being booed by the majority of every crowd. All his ppv numbers are deceiving. He was carried by the A side in the Gatti, De la Hoya, Canelo fights and the list goes on. He fights nowhere like he talks, so he needs to use his mouth to promote because the other FIGHTER brings the fans to the seats...but like every snake oil salesmen selling bullshit is easily forgotten in history. People just stop listening.

Ridiculous numbers... Considering the price tag, if it really does more than double the previous record, I dunno what to say, it's insane...

They should charge $150 bucks next time. Find out exactly where the ceiling is for masochists who like to throw their money in a big black hole, thinking fighters are going to magically change their styles for them.

People know what to expect from a certain brand. Don't like it or don't appreciate a certain style along with what comes with it, while commissions, refs, allow it, STOP BUYING. They will try to get your attention somehow but at this point no one is listening...

Can anybody explain how Floyd and Manny combined take basically 90% of the PPV revenue alone? Considering the marketing costs and everything, what is even left for the broadcasters? :dunno:

they didnt. but rather than the typical 50/50 they negotiated to where the PPV distributors took less, probably 40% or so.

Freitas had a better chance to beat Floyd than all but a few guys on Floyd's resume. At his best, he hit harder and was a better offensive fighter than Maidana, for example. And, as good as Floyd was back then, this is pre-Castillo 1 time and I think Freitas was better at his best than Castillo.

Frietas had about as much chance to beat Floyd as Canelo would have to beat Ray Leonard.

At 130, Floyd would have knocked Poo Poo out in an EXTREMELY one sided fight.

The 37-yr-old Floyd who fought Maidana in 2014 at 147 is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT animal than the 23-yr-old Floyd at 130.

Floyd is overrated at every other weight, except 130. He was THAT.......FUCKING.......GOOD at 130.

We can sit here for HOURS and list off all the junior lightweights in history who beat Poo Poo.

How much better was he than the younger version of Floyd that impressed the entire boxing world with his scintillating performance against Bumdomir?

A lot better because at 130 Floyd could actually punch and actually threw combinations.

Fruitass had a mediocre chin. Floyd would have beaten him up then taken him out.

There were other avenues of revenue. I watched the fight at a casino that drew over 5000 people to watch the fight on theatre screens. They paid anywhere from 20 bucks to 1500 bucks for an 8 person VIP set-up.

It was actually a bargain compared to what people paid to watch at home, plus you got the big fight atmosphere with liquored up assholes looking to start fights with each other.

I heard numbers about 55,000 people or more attending Closed Circuit broadcasts in Vegas itself.

bars get charged by capacity to show it. You're talking 10s of millions in revenue there. 46k closed circuit in vegas at 150 a pop. Some places in mgm were charging 375. International rights. Merchandise. Tickets mayweather jr kept to scalp at 10-15 times face value for primo ringside seats, etc

Do the numbers count other countries? Pretty much every bar here in Calgary was packed for the fight.
