The Tyson who fought Lewis vs (more or less) the Sanders who fought wald pussy. Who punches the other in the head until they don't get up no more?

Tyson was shot to shit by this point, but I don't know that Sanders' chin or stamina would hold up long enough for him to put Tyson away. I'll take Tyson by KO

How often did Tyson fight southpaws? I know that Lennox never fought a southpaw.

Ehhh, I dunno. On one hand, Tyson had NOTHING left in 02. On the other hand, he did take a lot of punishment from Lewis before getting KO'd. If he could stick around long enough to nail the golfer, he could take him out. But I dunno, cause Mike truly was a corpse at that point.

Tyson had only a KO punch left at that point... He COULD KO Sanders but if he didn't do it in the first few rounds, he'd lose. He had no stamina, his punch resistance had deteriorated and he was mentally fragile, no longer liked to fight.

The Tyson of just a couple of years earlier, who was still over the hill, KOs Sanders 10 out of 10... Sanders was garbage

Yep. For all the talk of Sanders having crap stamina Tyson was no better at that point in time. Sanders went through 8 rounds of hell against Vitali before succumbing and still fought back when he could. Even though Mike had more one punch power than Vitali i just don't see him putting on that kind of heat for any extended period of time. Unless Mike gets him out of there within 2 he loses.

Yeah, the Tyson who fought Golota would certainly kill Sanders.

Tyson was STILL a washed up fighter when he fought Golota, but he still had a LITTLE bit in the tank then. AND, he was still in the low 220's at that point.

By 02, not ONLY was he shot, but he started coming in much heavier.

One thing you have to factor in, Sanders would be more "up" for this fight than any fight in his life (as any fighter would). He'd come in at his best. Tyson wouldn't, and he was shot at that point too.

Agree that the Tyson of the Golota fight kills any version of Sanders.

I think Sanders should fight from distance since he is the taller guy here. Mike Tyson would nee to get inside as he was the shorter fighter. Whoever could have used their strategy more effectively would win it

He was far from garbage. He had some of the best pure punching ability in heavyweight history. For a man of his size, his straight left was unbelievable - amazing combo of speed, power and accuracy.

Only problem is, he didn't have much else, it was really just pure punching ability he had. Not much chin, stamina, ringsmarts etc.

    That must be it.

Sanders is a bit like a heavyweight Zab. Elite ability, but too flawed to be a real elite fighter. Neither guy are bums, that's for sure.

I kinda still feel like Tyson would probably win, but maybe the other guy would win or maybe something else would happen

I'd probably pick Tyson too, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if Sanders managed to not get KTFO, and outlasted Tyson.

Tyson was more or less a shell at that point, only 2 years removed from losing to Danny fucking Williams, and Kevin McFuckingBride a year or so later

Corrie was pretty aggressive though, his defense wasn't very good and if he got hit he'd fire back rather than spoil. It'd degenerate into a proper fight within the very short window of opportunity there is before Mike gets winded and starts to look for somewhere to sit down and snort blow. He probably punches Corrie in the head until Corrie doesn't get up no more.

True, he was aggressive and hittable, that's why I'd pick Tyson. And I think similar to the Botha fight, in that it would probably be one good punch.

Funny fight though, weird style matchup, and they just look so different

Zab Judah was obviously a far better fighter than that tormato-eating, Coetzee wannabe

    I mean come on now

Saw a documentary about Savon. Says he been offered to fight Tyson in 96' for 10 million dollar. Felix being the Marxist that he is, he declined. This however being the MM section, the question is obvious: Savon vs Tyson in 1996. Does the commie stand a chance?

Did Tyson already sport his Che tattoo on his stomach in 1996? And would Savon be allowed to go to the body? Risking punching Che in the face?

If you made Judah a heavyweight, so he'd be slower, have worse stamina etc, he'd still be a bit chinny, have stamina and focus/confidence problems - do you think he'd be significantly better than Sanders?

I'm not sure he would. Judah LOOKS good, that's for sure, he has elite ability, but his best win is Cory fucking Spinks. Even wald pussy is a better win than Spinks.
