It's a good signing I think. I know Feebs hates him but he's been quietly keeping his head down, getting on with things and in my opinion is one of the most improved players of recent years. Of course he was in a team where he was surrounded by talent and he's moving to a club where, at the moment, that's not the case (no offence to Liverpool). It'll be interesting to see how he does.

 I don't hate Milner. He did a decent job at NUFC and I thought we should have kept him. He's won shit loads at Shitty so has proven himself a good player. But that is what he is. He is neat and tidy, performs consistently to a decent level and is the archetypical 'good pro'.

What I maintain, though, is that he wouldn't have gotten anywhere near the England side circa 1986 - 2004. He's basically a hod-carrier and his inclusion in the England side is an obvious example of the decline in English football generally.

James Milner has more major honours to his name than Alan Shearer. Strange but true.

In fairness to him I believe he was what was missing this season to help out poor Henderson who had a great season for us but was carrying the team at times. We miss a Dirk Kuyt type guy.

I think his attitude is great...he turned down the wages and wants to play football. Its all you can ask for.

And Rodgers is at least moving fast.

Little mentioned fact is how close some of the games were this Season, 0-0 at West Brom, 1-0 away to Hull, 0-0 home to Hull, 1-2 at home to United and Chelsea, 2-2 at home to Arsenal, little changes in fortune and quality have a big impact.

Of course its true of all clubs this but Liverpool really were on a wave, people forget it, until Gerrard and Sterling decided to be fucking twats.

'Orange Fest' in Glasgow city centre this weekend. Fun for all the family. Black Skull Corps of Fife and Drums, face painting and a bouncy castle. Sounds like something Chris Morris would come up with.

I think I'll lay oot my Celtic top and some rosary beads tonight and go promenading.

I had a dream featuring Alan Sheaer last night, weirdly....i was at an indoors 7 a side match featuring all the best prem players of the 90s - cantona, le tissier, keane, etc - and Shearer absolutely blasted a freekick in past Seaman.

Yeah I know, other people's dreams. Sorry.

You could say that about the entire squad!

Milner is an excellent signing for us. We have far too many young players who tend to go missing when we need them most. His experience and work rate will benefit the team. Nothing flash about Milner, you know what you'll get from him and more importantly you'll get it week in week out.

The festivities will begin with a 'short act of praise and worship' led by controversial former spl referee minister Mike mcCurry  you could make this shit up but it'd seem too ridiculous

Intriguing................ I had a fucked up dream last night about another 9-11, this time involving bombs on the planes, and that my dead Uncle, who is dead since 2008, died on one of them when returning to the United States.

The terrorists had put cameras on their bodies so that the footage was relayed to Earth and we all saw it as it happened.

Then I was attacked by a Protestant in a helicopter which I managed to down by tempting him into some close buildings and his rotor got snared.

Myself and the angry mob dragged him from his machine and beat his ass and when I woke up I realized I was still talking to the Police about how it all happened.

I am pretty sure that the late-night surfing and reading the thread with the helicopters in it played a role. The rest is probably just old memories, images, ISIS articles etc playing a role, maybe that video of Mr Tatchell being swatted by Mugabes henchmen.

Random firing neurons innit bro :dunno:

Ra Sellick fans should hire out Caitlyn Jenner for the day, dress her up as Das Pope with a 15" Luminescent Orange Strapon, put her on a Litter and charge right into said act of "praise and worship".......then in the ensuing confusion, a donkey-mounted member of the Ra Sellick elite Cavalry should corner the referee like that scene in the Godfather, and shoot him, twice....JOEY! ZAZA!

Ah hadae dream aboot Shearer masen... Keano squared uptae him in a game and soon backed doon when he wiz met ba the ice cool, steely glare of the stocky Geordie wi' forearms like serrano hams. SEE YOU, Roy, Ye wee willie watcher Ye.

As fer the Orange marches, whit's wrong wi' getting the younger generation involved in history? Ye dinnae see us bealing aboot gadges wearing Easter lillies or singing the roll o' honour, yet put on a wee poppy tae recognise sacrifices made or play a wee bit o' Sloop John B, and Ye havetae put up an umbrella tae stop yerself being droowned in the resultant tears. It's like that w' Guy Fawkes night and marking the defeat o' the Spanish Aramada. Here's a newsflash, Rome, if Ye dinnae want yer defeats tae be noted - dinnae attack protestants, like. Noo, Ye've got the Argentine Pope moaning aboot Britain not alloowing Argentina tae have the Falklands but Ye dinnae hear a peep aboot his opinion on Argentina harbouring nazis after the Catholic Hitler killed him'sen. Ah dinnae wantae even start on whit 'troubles' Rome began wi' their directed crusades and involvement in the Spanish Civil War.

I'm not shedding any tears I think the whole thing will make for hilarious spectacle. I think the objections are just to the City turning over its main civic square to this all weekend, as well as shutting down several main roads. Re: the celebration of history, selective and otherwise note that this is the only city in the world with a major Irish diaspora prescience which neither endorses any St Patrick's celebration or any official memorial to the famine.

    I routinely do

Milner is a good signing for Liverpool. Kuyt is a good comparison actually - the kind of player who grafts all days, has the occasional sparkling moment and rarely has a really bad match.

Fair point (and agREED) *Hooever* Glasgow cooncil are on the case wi' the Famine memorial (it has been endorsed since 2012) and havetae consider the true fact that the memorial shouldnae be limited tae the Catholic Irish who died in the famine, unlike the existing memorial at Carfin, Lanarkshire.

St Patrick's Dee? Ye're having a laugh, aren't Ye? We'll endorse that National Saints dee the minute Dublin endorses St Andrews

Xavi was an actual footballer. With a brain and stuff. Milner is a grafter.

Xavi has scored nearly twice as many career goals than Milner (70 - 38). I wouldn't even want to count what the discrepancy in assists would be. One of these lads is a footballer. The other is a grafter.
