Two of the most brutal KO's I have ever seen. Ibeabuchi KO'd Byrd with one shot imo. Byrd got up but didn't know what he was doing. He was drooling all over the place and argueing with the ref. The ref should have stopped the fight immediately. Mercer brutally KO'd Morrison and landed another 4-5 unanswered punches after Morrison was already out on his feet without any protection. The asshole ref should have intervened earlier.

The BYRD KO was of a better fighter who had not been KO'd before and who would not be KO'd again like that.

Morrison on the other hand had none of Byrds chin and Mercer had to wait for him to gas before he could pull the trigger.

Another brutal KO. Michael Dokes was already KO'd after Ruddock's second punch. Than the ref allows Ruddock to land another monster left hook. What a fucking asshole this ref is.

The answer is Mercer-Morrison by a mile!

Turd was stopped on his feet.

The Byrd KO, because to reduce Byrd to a slobbering automaton who was having a great conversation with himself must have involved a really great punch. Byrd was still fresh and clear-headed when Ibeabuchi did the damage with one punch, whereas Morrison was tired and had a predilection for being KO'd in any event. Mercer was allowed loads of free shots against the ropes, it wasn't even boxing by the time he landed his best shots.

Turd was reduced to a slobbering robot, who had a big argument with himself in the ring.

It's like saying Ibeabuchi needed to get him down on the ground and hit him a few more times before it became as bad as what Mercer did

Mercer/Morrison and it's not even close

Ruddock/Dokes was more brutal than either

That left hookercut Ike landed was probably the scariest looking and sounding shot i have ever seen.

What the fuck is wrong with a few of you......Byrd was dropped by a HARD punch.....but he survived...got up was drop again...got up immediately was shaken a bit....but was avoiding most of Ike punches before the ref JUMPED in.....

Morrison was BRUTALIZE and destroyed by MERCER....far...far more BRUTAL KO.

Mercer \ Morrison by far. Just a brutal KO that ruined Morrison.

Agree it's Mercer/Morrison by far, but all of Morrison's decent wins came after the Mercer fight.

but was he ever hurt/dropped or showing any signs of a bad chin prior to the refereeing atrocity vs mercer?

Cool thing about the Ike fight was he was setting Byrd up for that shot all night, or so it would seem. For rounds, he'd been doubling up with the right. That time, he followed with the left.

One thing about the Morrison ko...I'd forgotten how dominant he'd been before finally getting ko'd.

I wish Ike had hit him many more times, ending his career and saving us from the years of boredom that followed in Turd's career.

While I agree with the sentiment I'm not sure it would have made a difference. Ruiz took some extras from David Tua after all.

We were still treated with Byrd and Ruiz as both being heavyweight "champions".

I forgot how wild and sloppy Ike looked, but he did have teh handspeed and power.

And god damn, I forgot how good Morrison looked against Mercer before being battered. Really impressive handspeed and accuracy for a heavyweight.

As for the question, is it a joke question? They're not even comparable. The Ike - Byrd KO was impressive, but not particularly brutal. Morrison was literally being beaten up when he was out cold.

Yeah, I would also pick the KO that actually was a KO as being the more brutal of the KOs

You guys don't get it. Byrd was out the second the monster hookercut landed. Ike basically beat on a knocked out man for two more minutes before ref realized chris is sleep walking.

Ibeabuchi-Byrd wasn't especially brutal although I love the drool KD.

Unless I'm forgetting something, Mercer-Morrison was the most brutal HW knockout of the 90s, followed by Ruddock-Dokes and Tua-Ruiz.

Yeah, I can't believe this is even a question

The Byrd stoppage is only memorable/funny because of the drooling, nothing brutal about it.
